This Week’s Outdoor Dance 🌊💃

The weather looks good, the tides are in position, we’re good to go for this week’s outside dancing, and you should join us!

I’ve been getting the most wonderful feedback on my sets lately (and lots of requests to share the playlists, I promise I’ll get to work on that).

For the WildBops (unguided), I lean into world flavours with waves of bass building underneath, inviting people to move in different ways and go deep. It’s an Afro/organic house core with tech house energy lifts, seasoned with world and Latin textures. We open with intention, and cacao is available too (optional). People often ask how I select the tunes: honestly, I spend hours and hours listening and searching, then I have a good old dance (with plant medicine!) to all of them before I know we’re good.

For JoyBop (guided), I lead you through routines you can follow, no experience or dance skill needed. Expect pop-house anthems, DnB energy, deep house grooves, and Afro/world flavours, all carefully picked to move you through every register. Familiar favourites meet fresh global finds.

I want to pay homage to the music and dance traditions from around the world that we have the honour and privilege to use. We are only ever enriched by other cultures, never diminished by them, and standing against racism matters more than ever right now.

My littlest and I have just been down to the beach for the low tide and made a stone sculpture. I am fully low tide obsessed these days.

Full WildBop (unguided), biggest low tide of the month

Do come and join us. Headphones for everyone, and for the daytime sessions bring your small humans if you like, they may well love the sand.

Tomorrow (Monday) we've got two lovely, nourishing dance opportunities for you:

**☕️ WildBop — 6.30-7.15am, St Ann's Well Gardens, Hove**

Cacao, intention setting, breathwork, and free-flowing (un-guided) dance to brilliant tunes mixing genres to bring out different moves, followed by meditation and a closing stretch to prepare you for the day ahead. All bodies welcome - come as you are, and leave with a full heart and a nourished body, ready for the week ahead.

**🪩 JoyBop Nights — 7-7.50pm, Buckingham Park, Shoreham (one-off)**

Guided dance to house, R&B, pop and a dash of DnB (basically anything we fancy), with easy-to-follow routines in our signature style. This was Mumrave, now open to all - a one-off pop-up before we return to Shoreham Centre in September. A great one to join if you've never been, or haven't been in a while.

Both sessions use our silent disco headsets.

**Tuesday:** JoyBop Nights returns to Patcham Peace Gardens, 7.30-8.20pm.

Ok so we may be setting you free with your dancing in WildBops and it’s amazing and we WILL continue to..! (Highly suggesting you come and give it a go..!)

But there is still a place for guided dance, and Mumrave has evolved into JoyBop Nights, which means dance moves we still lead that you follow but to all sorts of amazing tunes: electronic music including house and DnB, as well as some pop, RnB, world flavours and anything else we fancy…!

And Monday we’re doing a special pop up at Buckingham Park, Shoreham (with our silent disco headsets!) with a load of our fave easy to follow routines. 7-7.50pm.

We are also doing Patcham Tuesday at the Peace Gardens (near Patcham Memorial Hall), Tues 7.30pm…

Come and move to great tunes without overthinking it, it’s a thing, and us choosing love pair invite ya.

PS We choose love, always. So sad about the Palestinian family who died in the sea at Shoreham, and sickened by the disturbing comments people are making then being here. Just Choose love. It’s really as simple as that.

Yes yes we are indeed posting some beautiful, colourful food pics on here and for a good reason..!
