I havenโt posted for ages and ages but great to see that people are using the group chat to meet up, arrange walks and talk about walks theyโve done.
I thought Iโd post a few photos of my recent trek - round Mont Blanc! I did the Tour du Mont Blanc a couple of weeks ago with a friend, camping and carrying all our stuff. Over 100 miles, 10,000m of ascent and descent over 11 days (with two rest days). It was amazing!! Stunning scenery. What we hike for ๐๐๐โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

Now we can travel around the UK again, hereโs a beautiful coastal walk well worth doing at least part of if youโre in the Croyde or Woolacombe area. The walk starts from the NT car park at the end of the lane along the NW end of the beach. Itโs a large carpark that overflows into a field so usually has spaces.

I am now an official probationary dogsbody - thatโs the person the dogs have to find in training, without getting lost themselves ๐
Having discovered climbing, ice and waterfalls are a thing, Iโve now found mountains, hiking, search and dogs are too ๐

First walk back up on Crooks Peak this year. Great to be back. A lot of work has been done on Ash die back in Kingswood. Sad to see so many huge trees felled, but necessary.

For those walking slightly further afield as lockdown eases, Mendip Hills AONB have produced this handy map of parking areas so you can avoid the busy ones.
Please avoid the visitor car park hotspots this weekend. They will be busy. Why not discover one of the many other car parks in the AONB? We've mapped as many as we can here with up-to-date information about capacity, peak periods etc. https://www.mendiphillsaonb.org.uk/exploring/visiting-the-mendip-hills/
Better still, ride in? Walk in? Run in? However you enjoy the Mendip Hills this weekend

Good deed of the day - I have finally replaced the frayed string on the gate on the footpath from Claverham Road to Cadbury Hill. For interest, itโs a piece of waterskiing cord from the1960โs ๐. But it does the job. Went for zen simplicity this time.
I was beautiful up on Cadbury Hill yesterday.
