Tactile Alphabet Flashcards, Launching July 1st!

In July 2021 I began making tactile stickers & the response has been overwhelming, from parents of blind & visually impaired children, to blind & visually impaired adults & those who use them as a fidget/sensory tool, it’s been incredible to hear the response & love for them & I don’t want it to stop there.

Flashcards are proven to help children learn faster & that’s supported by using fun & memorable images. This isn’t something blind & visually impaired children should miss out on & an experience we can make more inclusive & accessible to all. Flashcards are also shown to help children develop communication skills, engage in recall, stimulate the identification of objects &
improve memorisation & language skills.

Learning should be accessible & accessible can still be fun. Not only do these allow blind & visually impaired parents to be able to interact with their child’s learning experience, but blind & visually impaired children get access to a learning experience similar to their sighted peers that is proven to have a huge beneficial impact.

Design Description: The flashcards are made from 300GSM card, with rounded corners to prevent any poky accidents to tiny hands. The images that make up each card are created using a variety of materials, including: Matte Vinyl, Glossy Vinyl, Glitter Vinyl & Felt, to provide a unique tactile/sensory experience. Each letter of the alphabet is placed in the top left corner, made from Glitter Vinyl with both a capital & lowercase version of each letter. The braille letter is set in the top right corner of the card & made from both Matte & Glitter Vinyl to accentuate the variation of dots making up each letter, with the word matching each corresponding image written in braille across the bottom of the card.

Each set of cards comes in a recycled cotton drawstring bag, labelled with ‘Tactile Alphabet Flashcards’ & an option to personalise it with your child’s name.
