Mad Dogs' top sniper, Marcos Pearson, is back in action tonight as he represents Great Britain at the 2026 Masters Inline Hockey World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

After years of terrorising opposition netminders and convincing everyone he's still got it, Marcos now takes his talents to the international stage once again.

So if you've got no plans tonight and fancy watching a 50-year-old continue to chase the dream while proving age is just a number, tune in and show your support!

🐾 MADDOGS TOP DOG AWARDS 🐾
A big win, two points on the board, and most importantly, an opportunity for a few people to receive attention they'll almost certainly handle with complete humility...
Here are this week's Top Dogs.

πŸ† Maddogs Player of the Game & Woman of the Game – Chloe Hodge
Well, where do we start?
If there was ever an award for turning up and immediately making everyone else look average, Chloe would probably have won that too.
Three assists on debut. Three. Some Maddogs have been chasing those numbers for entire seasons.
Not content with quietly settling in, Chloe decided she may as well collect both Woman of the Game and Maddogs Player of the Game while she was at it. Because apparently one award wasn't enough.
The work rate was excellent, the hockey IQ was obvious, and the facial expressions throughout the evening suggested she was constantly questioning why she'd agreed to spend her Saturday night skating around with a group of adults who communicate mainly through sarcasm and poor line changes.
The photo opportunity was about as much celebration as we got. Judging by her expression, she spent most of the evening calculating how quickly she could pull the fire alarm and escape what must have felt like an over-competitive bingo hall on ice.
Still, three assists and two awards isn't a bad return for a night spent with her grandad and his mates.
Congratulations Chloe. Thanks for making the rest of us look bad.

πŸ† Debut Goal Award – Nathan Evans

The new lad clearly misunderstood the assignment.
Most players spend a few weeks settling in, learning names and trying not to embarrass themselves.
Nathan decided to score on debut instead.
The new boy wasted absolutely no time showing he can mix it with the big guns, making an immediate impact in a huge win for the Dogs. We only wish his music taste had made the same impression.
If hockey ability was measured by playlists, he'd currently be playing somewhere in the lower reaches of recreational curling.
Not content with scoring on debut, Nathan also managed to arrive with enough Shopping bags for his kit to launch a small retail operation. Rumour has it a go fund me page is in motion for him to bring him one step closer to owning a proper hockey bag.
Until then, we'll continue supporting both his hockey career and his financial goals.

πŸ‘ Congratulations to all our winners.
Please enjoy your moment in the spotlight. The rest of the team are already looking forward to bringing you back down to earth at training.

πŸ—žοΈ Match Report – 6 June 2026
🦴 Maddogs 7 – 5 Phoenix πŸ¦β€πŸ”₯

Andy's Gas Bristol Maddogs finally got off the mark for the season with a hard-fought 7–5 victory over the Plymouth Phoenix at Planet Ice Bristol.
After a difficult start to the campaign, having faced some of the league's strongest teams in the opening fixtures, the Dogs knew this was a huge opportunity to pick up their first points of the season. With a shuffled line-up and three debutants in the squad, the Maddogs delivered a determined team performance to secure a deserved win.
There was plenty of excitement ahead of face-off as Bart F, Chloe Hodge, and Nathan Evans all made their Maddogs debuts. Making the step up can often bring nerves and uncertainty, but all three settled in quickly and showed exactly why they had earned their opportunity.
Nathan Evans wasted little time making his mark, finding the back of the net on debut, while Chloe Hodge enjoyed a night to remember, registering three assists and playing a key role throughout the game. Bart may not have found the scoresheet, but his work rate and commitment helped the Dogs roll four lines and maintain pressure on the Phoenix all night.
The game started at a high tempo, with both sides creating chances early. The Maddogs showed far more composure than in recent outings and were rewarded with goals from Richie Hargreaves and Tom Potter to establish an early advantage.
Plymouth battled hard and remained within touching distance throughout the game, but the Maddogs continued to find answers whenever the visitors threatened a comeback. Goals from Evans, Juri Lukionov, Matt Causon, and a second strike from Potter ensured the Dogs remained in control.
Richie Hargreaves, who finished the night with two goals and three assists, while Tom Potter continued his impressive recent form with two goals and an assist.
The Phoenix pushed hard in the closing stages, but strong defensive work and key saves ensured the Maddogs held on to claim a 7–5 victory and their first win of the campaign.
Just as importantly, the performance showed the progress the team has been making in recent weeks. The Maddogs played with confidence, moved the puck well, and worked hard for one another across all three periods.
With the first points of the season finally on the board, the Dogs can now look ahead with renewed confidence as they continue their league campaign.

🐾 MADDOGS TOP DOG AWARDS 🐾

We may not have come away with the points, but thankfully individual glory is still very much on the table. Here's this week's Top Dogs from our game against the Buccaneers.

πŸ† MOM – Matt Causon
Congratulations to Matt Causon, whose recent fitness revival has stunned teammates, opponents, and most importantly, his own body.
Rumours that he completed more than two consecutive shifts without requiring oxygen has now become a show off to his team mates, but his performance certainly turned back the clock. There may still be life in the old goat yet.
Good thing there wasn't a live stream, otherwise we'd be hearing about this performance for the next decade. Conrad's first goal was hard enough to survive.

πŸ† Players' Player – Paul "Whizzy" Whittle
A man who never disappoints... mainly because expectations were set correctly from the start.
Whizzy takes home the Players' Player award after another solid performance. Whether this was due to his hockey ability or because he was standing nearest the dressing room door when voting took place remains a matter of debate.
A face for radio, a body built for modelling winter coats, and somehow still a hockey player. Congratulations, Whizzy.
We salute you sir.

πŸ† First Goal Award – Tom Potter
Congratulations to Tom Potter on scoring his first senior goal.
When he's not officiating games, studying, smashing sticks, arguing with himself and frantically pointing into the sky and anyone else in the stands, he finds time to play hockey.
Three points and a first senior goal is a pretty impressive start to his Maddogs career.
Now if anyone knows of a job vacancy, please get in touch. The student lifestyle can only carry him so far.

πŸ‘ Congratulations to all three winners. Enjoy the recognition while it lasts
