We always need more officials to help out at league matches.
As well as being a requirement to take part in the league, officials add valuable points in the competition.
Many of our friendly officials team are simply parents who are attending matches with their young athletes, putting the time they would otherwise be spent just hanging around to good use.
So if you are a parent going along to matches with your child, please do consider helping out in this way. We especially need officials for the U13/U15 age groups.
There are three simple steps:
1. Complete an officiating course, which can be done online in an evening for many of the courses.
2. Complete the online Health and Safety and Safeguarding courses.
3. Have a relevant DBS (done through the club).
If you complete these steps, you are then a qualified Level 1 official which means when you are helping out with a tape measure, you will be contributing points to our team!
The club will pay for you to attend the training and provide any support you need, as well as mentoring at the matches. You can also have a lovely white officials polo shirt!
You can find info about all the officiating roles here: https://www.englandathletics.org/coaches-and-officials/officials-qualifications/
Please contact James Drennan via [email protected]. To claim a voucher with which you can book the course contact Charlotte on [email protected].
Please note - this will be a repeated call out in the next few weeks as we have lost a lot of officials this year!!
