37 was not an easy year and being free of my past doesn’t mean I won’t remember all of the lessons, the love, the challenges & the connections. It’s means I’m not bound by the stories that do not serve me.

I’ve woken up every day since my birthday really feeling into this.

Every day, every minute, even every breath is an opportunity to begin again & leave behind anything that doesn’t support me to take care of myself & be present with the people I love.

Here are some teachings that are helping me:

I am not the stories I’ve told myself about myself or the stories other people have told about me.

I do not have to fight how I feel, I need to feel it.

I do not need to feel ashamed or stupid for how I behave when I don’t handle things how I would like to.

I don’t need to have it all figured out, the pressure of this is paralysing & stops the flow of my life.

Self acceptance doesn’t mean self approval - accepting where I am in this moment actually opens me up to feedback & change.

I’m teaming up with .health to bring a friendly and informative workshop about food & nutrition on the first weekend of February.

As many close to me know my relationship with food has been a complicated journey - this year I have really faced some complex emotional issues & childhood experiences that have had me leaning toward abstinence regarding food & disordered eating.

Alongside facing the psychological components of my relationship with food I’ve found practical information really supportive and this is where .health is amazing at explaining nutrition, metabolism, supplements & recognising your bodies needs.

I’ve also been using yoga and grounding movement practices to help me listen to my bodies signals and be guided by my intuition rather than mind constructed narratives surrounding food. I’ll be sharing some of these practices in an accessible & gentle way in the workshop.

Feel free to DM me with any questions about the event.

We have general admission & low income options plus discount for Members.

You can book via www.tendwellbeing.com/events

Bringing wellbeing practices into the workplace is a great way to make employees feel supported & can serve as an antidote to their busy working life.

I’ve worked with lots of different businesses in Bristol and online and with each of them the offering is unique, taking into consideration the space available, the group demographic and size, plus which practices fit best and at what times!

If you are thinking of introducing wellness sessions to your business you can email me to [email protected] to arrange a call or head to tendwellbeing.com/corporate-wellbeing for more information.

I’m sure I’m not alone in admitting I have used intense exercise as a means to distract myself from feeling psychologically stressed or overwhelmed.

When my dad died last year I remember going particularly hard with strength training and pole dancing and I ended up with all sorts of pains that were 99% in my nervous system and 1% in my tissues. I got stuck in that cycle and in my case it took something close to a burn out to really make me evaluate how over-training was negatively contributing to my wellbeing.

I made a promise to myself that I would practice what a I preach & have been on a journey of understanding my own relationship to stress, my coping mechanisms and how to properly adapt my exercise regime to support myself and my health.

I’d love to help others to find the balance between juggling their busy life with their training or exercise regime! If you’re already confident in the gym I am offering tailored online programmes where I take into account many lifestyle factors - including stress! To help you get the most out of your training 💖

Gun shot wound to the head, my first 6c 🥲 Had a lot of fun working this, it has some big moves that I had to try hard for. Felt sooo good 😁 🔫

Thanks for the snap, the psych & for not letting me take the gear out after my second attempt!
