The Apache are delighted to announce our MVPs vs the Bobcats!

STMVP goes to DT/K Scott Gay! Taking his chance at the kicking position, Scott went a perfect 4 for 4 on Extra Points! A blocked FG was the only mark on an excellent kicking display. He also made a TD saving tackle as the Bobcats threatened a return and this coupled with his overall kicking display gets him this weeks Special Teams honours.

DMVP goes to LB Joe Gallagher! An absolute machine against a tough running attack Joe totalled up 10 tackles in the game! The LB also recorded 1.5 sacks and had a close attempt at a pick. A menace in the back field all day, Joe is a worthy defensive MVP this week!

Honourable mentions for Louis Trotman (2 picks), Ben Cross (1 pick, 1 FR)

OMVP goes to TE Connor Day! The TE was a huge factor against the Bobcats, opening the scoring to get the Tribe rolling, Clutch Connor went on to record 4-4 on catches/attempts, 54 receiving yards and another score to give him a stat line of 4 catches, 54 yards, 2 TDs! Connor was also a workhorse on specials teams and is a deserved MVP winner this week.

Honourable mention to Fabio Jesus on his Apache debut, 2 catches for 15 yards and 1 TD!

Apache Win! The Tribe made the long journey across to Bournemouth and came away with a hard fought victory!

In a tight first quarter it was a back and forth as both offences moved the ball but stalled at critical times. The Apache stopped one drive through an Interception from DB Hayden Lee who made a solid return! The offence got moving as Apache QB Fen Trudgian found TE Connor Day across the middle for the opening score! The extra point knocked over by kicker Scott Gay for the 7-0 lead. The Apache finished a solid first quarter with the second interception of the game through DB Louis Trotman!

The second quarter looked alot like the first but the Apache defence were turning it up a notch, another pick by Louis Trotman made it 3 for the Tribe! And the Offence found their rhythm through QB Trudgian and TE TJ Ajayi, with the latter collecting the pass in the corner of the endzone for another score! Scott Gay with the extra point and the Tribe went into half time with a 14-0 lead.

The 3rd quarter was a tale of the run game, specifically the Bobcats run game. As the Apache D struggled to get to grips with a varied run game. The Bobcats eventually scoring a rushing TD. However the Apache Offence put together a solid drive before stalling on 4th down….only for a botched snap by the Bobcats to be recovered by LB Ben Cross for the Apache!

As the 4th quarter began the Apache O were driving but a stall in the drive lead to a FG attempt, which was blocked by the Bobcats! But a pick by LB Ben Cross got the ball back and it was another Trudgian to Day connection as the big TE went in for another score, with Gay converting for a 21-7 lead! As the clock dwindled QB Finlay Hughes was in for the Tribe and after going 4 and out, DB Joe Collins picked off the Bobcats QB to get Hughes the ball back. 2 rushes later and it was RB Fabio Jesus who sprinted to the left corner of the endzone for his first Apache score!! Scott Gay with the extra point! The D forced another 4 and out to allow the Apache O to kneel out the game! The Tribe move to 1-1 and welcome the unbeaten Solent Thrashers to Hillside Gardens on Sunday!

It’s game day 2 as The Tribe travel to Bournemouth to face the Bobcats. All are welcome to support!!!

Practice, this Sunday as we prepare for a triple header of games! Come for practice, then onto watch the Aztecs play Notts!

The Apache are delighted to announce our MVPs vs the Thrashers!

STMVP goes to LB/K James Baines. In a back and forth contest, the boot of Baines got the Apache on the scoreboard with a FG! He would go on to kick 4-4 XPs to go a perfect 5-5 kicking on the day! He also kicked 3 touchbacks on KO’s to neutralise a tricky Thrashers return game!

DMVP goes to DB Louis Trotman, making his Apache debut, against a formidable Thrashers offense, Louis stood firm against the constant threats. Recording an INT, multiple tackles and pass break up’s he was a relentless presence all over the field! A great start to his time with Apache!

OMVP goes to WR Harry Owen! Another making his Apache debut, Harry blew the game wide open…with the Apache trailing, Harry took the top off the Thrashers D, showing his track speed for a huge 50 yard TD! The WR went on to record 6 catches for 94 Yards and the TD. A special shout out for also stepping into the return game on Special Teams!

The Apache lose. The Tribe lost out in a barnstorming battle to the powerhouse Thrashers. A FG from K James Baines got the Apache moving on the scoreboard after they fell behind to an early TD. After another TD to the home team, it took a huge pass from QB Fen Trudgian to WR Harry Owen, the later sprinting clear for a long TD to keep the Tribe within 2 points. The Thrashers asserted their high powered Offence into the game, scoring twice to stretch the lead to 25-10….before WR Luke Holloway was this time the recipient of the deep pass from Trudgian…with the result being the same as before…Holloway sprinting clear for the TD and a 25-17 HT score!

The Tribe started the second half in great fashion, after a great offensive drive, the Apache were in the redzone and as the pocket collapsed, QB Trudgian scrambled and found the diving TJ Ajayi who had superbly continued his route! The 2pt attempt to tie the scores was unsuccessful and the Tribe trailed 23-25. That soon became 32-23 as the Solent O flexed their power. But Ajayi wasnt done, taking Trudgian 4th passing TD of the game into the endzone after beating his coverage. Again the Solent offence struck back, scoring twice to stretch the lead to 44-30 after 2 quick TDs. However the Apache showed true grit…and this was exemplified by RB Ed Green, who late in the 4th powered into the left corner of the endzone! With K James Baines converting yet again to make it a perfect 5 from 5 kicks on the day the Apache were set up for the onside kick. Unfortunately it wasnt too be and despite the Apache D forcing a punt the clock just ran out as the Apache O made it to midfield! A tough 37-44 loss against a good Thrasher team!

Plenty of positives as we look forward to our next game, another road trip to face the Bobcats on the 17th May!

It’s game day 1 as The Tribe travel to the Southampton to face last years division winners the Solent Thrashers. All are welcome to support!!!
