With the build up to the season hotting up, we’re pleased to announce & see Jake Musgrove back in Avonmouth colours for the upcoming 26/27’ season.

Muzzy is no stranger to the club after playing junior rugby and 1st XV rugby at Barracks Lane previously. Jake enjoyed a great season with neighbours Bristol Saracens last year which saw them clinch the title in an unbeaten league season & after some tough negotiations at first it was the mother-in-laws Sunday roasts that swung his decision.

Jake can operate at 9 or on either wing but ultimately will play where ever he’s told by his missis…

Sad News… 🗞️

We are deeply saddened to hear of the news that former Player Kevin Bogira has passed away at the age of 73.

Kevin was a Lawrence Weston resident and played at the club following a short stint at Broad Plain after ties with Empire Athletic Club.
Bogira made his Bristol Rugby senior debut in 1978/79 where his performances in his debut season earned him supporter player of the year.

Kevin went on to be a part of the 1983 John Player Cup winning squad, he won county championships with Gloucestershire & featured for England Classicals in Bermuda. He earned a total of 317 Bristol caps scoring 23tries during his career. He represented the Bristol Combination Select XV Vs his old club Avonmouth during the opening ceremony of the new clubhouse at Barracks Lane.

Our thoughts are with Kevin’s family, friends and teammates at this very sad time…

RIP

We are saddened to hear of the passing of John White, better known around the combination as Scoop.

John was an avid fan of the grassroots game and was a well known face around the combination and beyond. His passion for grassroots rugby was second to none and in his time he captured many great fixtures and moments from clubs across the Bristol & surrounding region…

Our thoughts are with John’s family, friends and everyone who knew him.

John will be sorely missed by the entire rugby community.

Our boys are well into pre-season now and are only a matter of weeks away before getting back to it. We have x4 friendlies lined up for the squads before heading into the new league campaigns. ⚔️

PRE-SEASON TRAINING

We’re back at it… if your looking for a fresh challenge, a new club, new to the area or looking at starting at a club with less travel but still competitive then why not come on down…

We have rugby for all levels… 3 senior men’s teams and a ladies side all in league rugby with a great social and family scene…

Men’s Training:
Tues & Thurs nights 6:45pm-8:30pm

Ladies Training:
Weds 7pm-8:30pm
