Euphoric mania. Those were the days. Everything is so vivid, colourful and alive!
Mind racing a million miles an hour with beautiful and creative ideas. My mind split and instead of one train of thought I have five all running independently. Pure bliss washes over you in waves. Your life may be falling apart in front of you but you can’t see beyond the joy and the absolute certainty that everything you do will work out. There is no doubt in your mind that this will last forever. But it doesn’t. Soon your mind will begin to make mistakes. Trains of thought become tangled. The beautiful ideas become jumbled and you feel disoriented as nothing in your mind makes sense. A dark thought enters your mind. Doubt. The bright colours begin to fade. Fear and panic grip you as you begin to spiral down. You grasp for anything that you think will bring back that feeling of bliss. This only brings you down quicker until the feeling is gone. Landing you in a place feeling like you can’t go on.
Bipolar Mania can be a beautiful thing.
We chase it because it is the best thing that life has to offer.
Depression is the worst and I hope people that support people with this illness can understand the extremes we are faced with.
And forgive the self destructive things we may do to escape what can be a hellish reality.
