Calling all Golf Mums and Golf Dads. This Easter Half Term, I will be running a Junior Golf Camp at Bromley Golf Centre & Orpington Golf Centre. Your child will have the chance to hit the driving range to learn and update their skills, challenge their putting skills and have the opportunity to play some holes plus much more. The Barnehurst Junior & Adult Pairs Texas Scramble presented by The Mini Champions Junior Golf Tour.

Sunday 15th August, saw a fantastic day with 20 Junior golfers & 20 Adult golfers in a Paris format competing for Trophies, Medals and Prizes in a 9 hole golf tournament. The tournament was organised by Head Professional of Barnehurst and Director of the Mini Champions Junior Golf Tour Ryan Tarrant along with the tournament coordinator, Lauren Coombes.

The Mini Champions Junior Golf Tour has been set up to allow junior golfers to compete in their sport and for families to come together to enjoy special moments on the golf course.

The events are 9 hole events, and have been sponsored by 7 local companies, Bexley londis,Sunnydaze Tanning Salon, Fentons Granite and Glass, All Kent Windows, Copy Cats Print & Signs, Garden Fencing London & Allspec Group Ltd.

On the day of the event, juniors & adults turned up and headed to the check in station where they received their goody bags and rules booklets for the day. They headed to the range and putting green for their warm up before play commenced.

Some fantastic golf was played over the 9 holes and the results were:

Our next Mini Champions Junior Golf Tour event will once again be hosted at Barnehurst Golf Club on Sunday 27th October. This will be an individual stroke play event and will give juniors an opportunity to compete in an age categorised formation.

A small comment from Ryan - Over the last 6 months, I really believe Barnehurst Golf Club has turned a corner and the condition of the facility is fantastic. I was extremely proud watching 20 juniors that I coach, partner up with their Adult and compete together. A Texas scramble is all about team work and achieving the right tactics to be able to shoot a low score. I watched so many of my juniors direct the correct tactics and guide their adult to play well. ‘The juniors were outshining parents and carrying them at times’ were comments made from parents. If anyone outside is interested in having golf lessons, I am lucky enough to coach and run my own junior academy. Currently my academy has over 55 juniors that come to me every Saturday and I am always looking to expand this. Below I have typed up a press release that I hope the news shopper will publish. I have been trying extremely hard to get in touch with them but I constantly get ignored. I feel that the junior golfers that you read about and see below, deserve the recognition they deserve. The Barnehurst Junior Open presented by The Mini Champions Junior Golf Tour

Sunday 11th August, saw a fantastic day with 26 junior golfers competing for Medals and prizes in a 9 hole golf tournament. The tournament was organised by Head Professional of Barnehurst and Director of the Mini Champions Junior Golf Tour Ryan Tarrant along with the tournament coordinator, Lauren Coombes.

The Mini Champions Junior Golf Tour has been set up to allow junior golfers to compete in their sport.

The events are 9 hole events, and have been sponsored by 7 local companies, Bexley londis, Sunnydaze, Fentons Granite and Glass, All Kent Windows, Copy Cats Print & Signs, Garden Fencing London & Allspec Group Ltd.

On the day of the event, juniors turned up and headed to the check in station where they received their goody bags and rules booklets for the day. Accompanied by their parents, grandparents, friends and families, juniors took to the golf course in groups of 3 and 4 to play 9 holes in strokeplay format.

Some fantastic golf was played over the 9 holes and the results were:

The next event will once again be hosted at Barnehurst Golf Club on September 15th September. This will be a pairs Adult / Junior event played as a Texas scramble format.

A small comment from Ryan - We at Barnehurst are trying incredibly hard to make the facility better for our members, guests and juniors. It was a superb day watching 26 talented junior golfers play and compete. Along with the Mini Champions Junior Golf Tour, I also run my own junior academy at Barnehurst and Junior Golf Camps. Seperate to any type of junior golf, I run adult lessons so please feel free to get in touch or pop into the club.
