I just hope this time next year I DO NOT HAVE TO TELL HEATHER'S STORY AGAIN.

Telling her story and reliving the pain is very difficult. I do it because I'm not convinced those in power are listening. They talk of regulators improving, investing more than ever, and yet they remain blind to the public health risks they are taking.

Sewage system should be returned to its original purpose - protecting public health, protecting the environment.... profit shouldn't even be on the table.

How many have to be hurt for those in power to have their money GREEDY goggles removed.

SIR JOSEPH BAZALGETTE IS TURNING IN HIS GRAVE I AM SURE!!!

Summer holidays are here and we all want to enjoy our holidays. We CAN NOT AND SHOULD NOT rely on water companies protecting us from harmful pathogens, chemicals and whole bunch of other nastiness in our water. They don't care.

Jaws was a film this is reality

6kg wall ball ... my relationship .. fractious! There are more ups than downs now, thanks to Rebecca Mason. She has got me to almost enjoy this station in training at least. Although I appear to be having another conversation with the equipment again, as winnie pooh wall ball wasn't cooperating with me. I thought the song was appropriate and kinda summed up my feelings 🤣

The Geezer and best support crew waiting in the wings for me to bring my medal home ❤️

Hyrox World Championships followed by a rather hot sunny day in Stockholm🌞. Big up to Suz Tours are highly recommended. Excellent Christmas bauble shopping and a beautiful coffee shop Gamla stan 1859 Gelato•Espressobar with the most amazing coffee for The Geezer and Suz and a speciality tea for me... milk oolong and a small tub of blackcurrant sorbet 😋... I did do a Pro race yesterday!

Every race I've done this season, I haven't been able to walk after. I am really happy that I haven't had any problems today. Suz Tours had me walking around Gamla Stan. Fingers crossed that injury never rears its head again. Rebecca Mason will be making sure I keep strengthening my calfs and ankles ready to hit my Deka races, Hyrox Doubles with The Geezer, Deadly Dozen race and probably another Pro singles....retirement is calling but you know when you feel you should do better??? Something is missing?? What if?

Honestly... I know slap me if I sign up for anything else.

That was the best Hyrox event I have ever attended, and I've done a few (almost 20, possibly more 😱). The organisation and support crew and judges were brilliant 👏 Watching the elite 15 races was so exciting, too.

I said this was going to be my last Pro Hyrox. I was wearing my first ever race t-shirt, Birmingham 2022, to mark the occasion. Stepping up to Pro has been a real physical and mental challenge for me. Pro Division is not for the faint-hearted. Rebecca Mason has had her hands full with me... tears, tantrums, I can'ts, and constant menopause niggles in every joint making training at times painful.

All this at a time when my past resurfaced and has become my present again. Ch4 Dirty Business has, without doubt, been the hardest thing I have ever agreed to do. The campaign that has followed has been emotionally and physically draining.

So DEKA are my next events, and may be another PRO race.... 60 soon... so I'm definitely back into the Hyrox open 😆

Another day in the office

Meeting at UKHSA followed by a meeting with Sir Chris Whitty and Minister Hardy at DEFRA. Reminding them that their decisions affect people.

Managing the threat of cholera, typhoid, and many other water-borne diarrhoeal diseases was central to the birth of scientific public health in the UK and has remained central to it since. The remarkable feats of engineering which separated human faeces from water we come into contact with, and in particular from contaminated drinking water, broke the chain of transmission of major faecal-oral diseases which were previously a major cause of mortality in children and adults. It was one of the greatest public health triumphs of the last 200 years, responsible for saving millions of lives globally. The principal reason for the existence of the sewage system is to protect public health.

Sir Chris was firm, but we agreed upon the basic principle that sewage systems should protect people, not harm them. My hope is that he is a man of his word, and he will bring an end to the government putting profit above public health.

Enough is enough.

How much hurt? How much pain? How much anger?

History repeating itself over and over. With our children paying the price of incompetence, ignorance, and what is most difficult to comprehend or accept ... greed. The true price of privatisation. Margaret Thatcher's true legacy... profits before people... no matter the cost.

Anne Moore's piece in todays was very difficult for me to read. Swallowing the tears of grief never gets any easier. Especially when they are gathered up in righteous outrage. But I thank her. Raising awareness coming up to the holiday season is paramount. I thank her for telling our stories, bringing our children out of the darkness and into the light. They must not be forgotten. Our children's legacy will be CHANGE. Our children's legacy will be making our water safe again.
