Sorry folks course has failed last inspection and will be closed for the day. Tomorrow brings a different issue as wind is meant to be around 40mph and to continue high winds through the weekend.

Failed 19am inspection , last inspection at midday

Here we go again! 1 step forward 2 steps back, overnight frost which I believed was not forecasted has closed the course again this morning. inspection at 10am but looks more likely to be nearer midday if it's does open.

Good news, course open.

For those who are a little unsure on why on such a nice day we are closed, hopefully after reading this you may be a little more educated on why it's shut! This is a message to the members at Royal Birkdale

Temps sitting at 3 degrees, but because of a really keen frost from 4 o clock yesterday the course and especially the greens are still rock solid. Not going to come completely out of the profile today so I'm afraid the course is closed but the good news is temps are to stay above freezing I believe so good chance of play tomorrow.

Course passes midday inspection and is open

Course has failed 10am inspection. Last inspection midday. If fails it will be closed all day

Jus a couple of days of play and now we are right back where we were with another cold snap, frost through the night, temps at 0 degrees at the minute has left a hoar frost so course closed with an inspection at 10am.

God morning, hope you all had a lovely Xmas day, unfortunately their has been snow through the night, subsequently the course is closed with a one and only further review at midday !

At last, course open for play, obviously still some slippy areas so if playing please be careful.

Morning! Still a bone in the profile, still frozen puddles in accessible areas, burn at 13th burst its banks and only one bridge available. Course remains closed again today.

Morning folks, course remains closed although temps have risen to 7 degrees but still a bone an inch into the profile. Overnight rain with the bone has created puddles all over the course and saturated our low lying area at the 13th. We will get another check tomorrow morning and see where we are. Thanks for your patience

Another cold morning, -2 through the night, sitting at 0 at the minute. Course closed with first inspection at 10am, if it fails we will have 2 more inspections at 11 and 12, if still not playable it willl be shut for the day. Thanks for your patience.
