Match Report – Linlithgow PSV vs The Albion

The Albion travelled to Linlithgow for an early kick-off on a very warm Saturday morning to take on a strong Linlithgow PSV side.

With no substitutes available and temperatures rising, we knew it would be a challenging test for the boys. Linlithgow started brightly and quickly settled into the game, moving the ball well and scoring several well-worked goals. The Albion found it difficult to gain a foothold in the first half and went into the break with plenty to think about.

A much-needed water break at half-time, combined with some positive words from the coaching team, helped reset the players. The response in the second half was outstanding. The Albion came out with renewed energy and determination, matching Linlithgow across the pitch and showing great character despite the demanding conditions.

The improvement was rewarded with two excellent team goals. The first came from a superb pass by Kai, releasing Marco, who finished confidently into the corner. The second showcased some brilliant build-up play, starting with Caelen in defence. His pass found Kai in midfield, who then threaded the ball through to Marco on the wing. Marco drove forward before cutting the ball back perfectly for Amine, who applied the finishing touch with a composed finish.

The second-half performance was full of positives. Tom produced a number of excellent saves, while Michael and Caelen were solid and dependable at the back. Aaron and Marco worked tirelessly on the flanks, providing energy and width throughout, and Amine led the line well, constantly pressing and closing down the opposition.

In midfield, Kai was simply relentless. He covered every blade of grass, linked play brilliantly, and played a key role in both goals. His all-action display earned him a thoroughly deserved Player of the Match award.

A fantastic second-half effort from the boys, showing resilience, teamwork, and determination in difficult conditions. Plenty of positives to take forward.

Well done, boys!

Winchburgh Albion 2015 put in a tremendous effort on a sunny Saturday morning against a strong Bathgate Whites 2015 side at Craigton Park.

The squad of Tom, Michael, Caelen, Aaron, Amine, Marco, Caleb and Dexter worked tirelessly from start to finish in what turned out to be a very close and competitive game.

The defence played really well on the ball throughout the match, staying composed under pressure and helping build attacks from the back. In midfield and attack, the team worked extremely hard and produced some excellent passing football, moving the ball up the pitch well and creating 7 or 8 really good chances over the course of the game.

Winchburgh’s hard work paid off in the second half with a well-worked goal. Amine won the ball in midfield and played a great pass forward to Dexter, who finished confidently from close range.

Both teams battled hard, with very little separating them across the game. Winchburgh continued to press right until the final moments and were unlucky not to score again after a dramatic late goalmouth scramble where Bathgate Whites managed to clear the ball off the line.

A fantastic team performance full of effort, determination and excellent football throughout. Well done to all the players involved.

Tough game for the boys against a very good Syngenta side.

The boys competed brilliantly in the first half, with both teams playing some excellent football and matching each other all over the park.

After the break, Syngenta showed their quality and we lost a bit of the momentum and intensity that we carried in the first half. Despite that, there were still plenty of positives and a lot of valuable lessons to take into training as we prepare for the next match.

Heads up, keep working hard, and we go again next week.

Match Report – Winchburgh Albion 2015 vs Rapid Linlithgow 2015
📍 Linlithgow Xcite

The positive attitude was clear from the very start today. The boys showed how they wanted to play right from warm-up, setting the tone for what was to come.

From the first whistle, our new kick-off approach paid off immediately. We put Rapid Linlithgow under pressure straight away with an attacking mindset that continued throughout the entire match.

This was some of the best football the Winchburgh boys have played. They worked tirelessly to close down the ball, stayed tight to their opponents, and weren’t afraid to be physical against a strong Linlithgow side.

Every single player played their heart out. The wingers covered every blade of grass up and down the pitch, while the centre midfielders and strikers created chances and won the ball high up the park. At the back, it was a world-class performance from the defenders and goalkeeper, keeping things solid under pressure.

The difference today was the passing and the willingness to track back and defend as a team. The boys should be very proud of how they applied themselves.

Going forward, there were plenty of chances created, with lots of shots on target keeping the opposition goalkeeper busy. Much of this came from our strength on the wings and our relentless attacking play.

Player of the Match: Aaron – a standout performance with key contributions across the pitch.

A special mention to Captain Michael, who led the team brilliantly this morning and set a great example with his effort and attitude.

Well done boys, build on this and let’s carry the same energy into the next match! 💪⚽

This morning Winchburgh Albion 2015s faced off against Bathgate Thistle Blues in an early kick off in the first match back since the Easter break.

Craigton Park was looking magnificent and the quality of football matched as both teams got off to a good start with chances created at both ends. As the first half went on Bathgate established their control in the game and were the better side.

The action continued in the second half with the boys putting together some good passing moves and Tom making a number of saves. The Winchburgh boys competed well but found it tough against a top side who scored some excellent goals. Winchburgh’s determination was rewarded with a goal in the closing stages with Amine finding Marco at the back post to slot home.

It was a competitive game played in a good spirit - lots for the boys to learn and work on in training. All the boys worked hard and Caleb picked up the man of the match for Winchburgh. Thanks to Bathgate Thistle Community Football Club for making the trip through - we look forward to playing again later in the season.
