Is there anything better than reading something like this?

‘’1 year ago today, I walked up a set of stairs not knowing what to expect or why on earth a couple a weeks earlier I’d signed myself up for a 1 month trial at The Combat Academy - Burton 🤦‍♀️. I was so nervous when I walked in to my 1st ladies only class! I watched the end of the mixed adult class before me and almost walked back down the stairs! I watched what I later found out was called “the burn out” abd thought no way on this earth can I do that! Abd honestly I was right but I stayed anyway! I walked onto the mats for the first time and listened to coach and Meg welcome us. After that the 1st warm up came! Oh my days I was dead after 2 laps of the gym but the warm up hadn’t even started really! I went to one side had a drink caught my breath and tried again. Side stepping, well I was terrible at that too! I gave up on the warm up well i did my own warm up jogging on the spot and dancing in the corner! Next was stretching finally something I could do!
Then came pairing up! I looked to the person next to me and there stood Panna! We joined forces and became kicky punchy partners 🥊
And that was it I loved it! However I had this voice in my head telling me it was too expensive and that I would be selfish to spend that much money on myself! Torch finally convinced me I was being stupid and if it was something I really enjoyed it was worth it! So I signed up!
I’m really proud of myself for sticking at something for so long and for everything else I’ve achieved over the last year too!

The gym is now closed for the weekend, it’s time to relax and have some family time!

Did you know we do ladies only classes and complete beginner courses?

Honestly, they’re that good that our members will do anything to join in 😂😂😂

On another note this is Sean, he’s a lifetime member (one of the first) yes we do life time memberships 🎄🎄🎄

Sean is on our fight team and still actively competes. He helps coach in some of our classes. Most of all is a committed team player as you can see, this was him on our fancy dress evening.
