A positive start to pre-season despite the result! Some great football played in hot conditions, along with trying out a new formation with new faces.

We wish Tongham all the best in their upcoming league campaign, and a special thanks also to their first team manager Adam, who kindly officiated!

Mytchett Athletic 3-5 Headley United Reserves

Sadly, we fall to defeat in our final game of the season. Despite going into half time 4-2 down, we showed a lot of character to try and get back into the game. Our goalscorers were Elad Zeevi (X2) and Jan Demjan.

Thank you to everyone for your support this year. It's been a tough campaign, but we're already looking forward to getting back on the pitch and putting in the hard work during pre-season!

Our debut season in the Aldershot and District Senior Division comes to an end today as we face Headley United Reserves in our final home game.

We came out on top in a seven-goal thriller in the reverse fixture, so hoping to sign off with a win.

But whatever the result, it's been a great campaign with a lot of strong performances and memorable moments. We've learnt a lot and continued to grow and develop as a squad.

Kick off is 3pm and all are welcome. Looks like a lovely day for football!

Full Time - AFA Intermediate Cup Quarter Final

Abbey Rangers 5 - 3 Mytchett Athletic

Although we bow out of the cup, the squad can take great pride from their performance last night - especially after coming back from 2-0 and 3-1 down to level the game up.

Jamie Kemp scored a screamer to half the deficit after we went 2-0 down, with Joe Annette and Jan Demjan grabbing our other goals. Two late strikes from Abbey were hard to take, but we left everything out on the pitch.

We look to end our first season in the senior division on a high when we welcome Headley United Reserves to the Mytchett Community Centre on Saturday. Come down and show your support!

We're in action under lights tonight as we travel to Abbey Rangers in the Quarter Final of the AFA Intermediate Cup. Should be a good game as we look to book our place in the last four of the competition.

ICYMI, we're having a trial game next Saturday as we look for new players to join the club ahead of next season.

Contact information is below if you have any questions or want to know more. We've had a good response so far, so if you're interested, come on down!

We currently play in the Aldershot and District Senior Division and are looking to strengthen our squad ahead of next season. All positions are welcome, so come along and play in a match mixed up with our current team.

The game will be at the Mytchett Community Centre, where we play our home games every Saturday. We currently train on Thursdays rom 9pm-10pm at Frimley Lodge 3G, but we'll move to grass over the summer.

So if you're interested, please get in touch. We're a good bunch of lads who enjoy playing football and look forward to welcoming a few new faces!

Mytchett Athletic 2-3 Yateley United A

We fell to defeat yesterday afternoon and in doing so, ended our unbeaten start to the new year. After going behind early on, Jamie Kemp brought us back on level terms immediately with an excellent strike outside the box, which swerved past the outstretched arms of the keeper.

We then went 2-1 down midway through the first half, despite the referee not giving a free kick in the build up for a push on one of our defenders.

As we went in search of an equaliser in the second half, Yateley United grabbed their third of the game late on, when a ball through the middle saw their attacker round Tobi and score, despite Joe Mumford's best efforts to keep the ball from going over the line.

But there was still time for us to score a second, this time from the penalty spot after a Yateley defender handled inside the box. Ryan Lunn stepped up to take and although his initial effort was saved, he was the quickest to react and score from the rebound.

Unfortunately, the full time whistle blew shortly after.

Our Man of the Match award was given to Joe Annette, who produced a solid display in the middle of the park.

Below is our starting XI and substitutes. We're unsure of our opponents next Saturday, but will post news as soon as our next fixtures are released.

Mytchett Athletic v Yateley United A

We're at home to Yateley for the second time in two weeks this afternoon, this time in the league. Despite edging past them in the league cup we expect another tough test, but are full of confidence after last week's victory away at AMY Aldershot.

Kick off at the The Mytchett Community Centre is at 2pm and all are welcome to come down and watch. As always, a special shout out to our sponsors Southdown Landscapes & Turf Co and Comfy Office!

AMY Aldershot 0-1 Mytchett Athletic

We dug deep this afternoon to record an excellent win which maintained our unbeaten start to 2022.

It was a frantic start to the match but we repelled each attack and when any shots came on goal, Tobi Daniels produced some world class saves to keep us in the game.

Our first chance fell to Bradley Verrinder, who managed to pull free of the defenders and run through, but his shot was saved by the keeper. Shortly after, Jamie Kemp also had a great chance, but he couldn't get his effort on target

But we opened the scoring when Brad created space and unleashed a fierce strike from outside the box which flew into the top corner.

The second half was similar to the first, where each player dug deep to keep AMY from scoring. Although they had several chances to equalise, we defended brilliantly and saw the game out to earn three important points.

We're back at home next Saturday, when we welcome Yateley United A to the Mytchett Community Centre. Below is our starting XI and substitutes. Our Man of Match was given to Jack Jolliffe.

Our next league encounter is against AMY Aldershot, who we played right at the start of the season. We narrowly lost the fixture 2-1, so will be looking for a better result today.

Mytchett Athletic 3 - 2 Yateley United A

We advanced to the last eight of the league cup yesterday afternoon with a battling victory against a good Yateley side.

Despite going 1-0 down to a brilliant strike early on, we gradually grew into the game and deservingly got back on level terms midway through the first half. A good ball by Bradley Verrinder put Jamie Kemp through, and he rounded the keeper before firing the ball in from a tight angle.

We then completed the turnaround early on in the second half when a inviting ball across the box from Jacob Ogidi was deflected back to Johno, who made no mistake from six yards out.

And it was soon 3-1 when a mix up on the edge of the box saw Johno lob the ball back into the empty net to grab his second of the match.

Yateley brought it back to 3-2 within minutes with a fine header to set up a tense finish, but we managed to see the game out.

We're back to league action next Saturday, when we travel to AMY Aldershot. Kick off will be 2pm.

Below is our starting line up and substitutes.

We're in league cup action this afternoon against Yateley United A. We suffered defeat when we last played them in the league earlier in the season, but keen to try and progress to the next round of the competition.

Everyone welcome to watch, just be aware that the fixture will be played at Frimley Lodge Park on pitch 3 (behind the cricket pitch) and kicks off at an earlier time of 1.30pm. This is to allow enough light to play extra time and penalties should the game finish level after 90 minutes.

A shout out to our shirt sponsors Southdown Landscapes & Turf Co and Comfy Office!

Unfortunately our game this afternoon has fallen victim to the wet weather. We're back at home next Saturday where we play Yateley A in the cup.

A belated Happy New Year everyone!

We kick off 2022 in the league with a home fixture against Headley United Reserves. We edged a seven goal thriller towards the end of last year in our last meeting, so it's bound to be another close game.

Kick off is 2pm. Everyone welcome!

And as always, a special shout to our sponsors Southdown Landscape and Turf and Comfy Office!

Headley Reserves 3-4 Mytchett Athletic

A brilliant second half performance yesterday sees us go three games unbeaten in the league, as we twice came from behind to get all three points.

After going 2-0 down early on, Bradley Verrinder grabbed our first goal before a dubious penalty decision saw Headley restore their two-goal advantage. We then brought it back to 3-2 when Sam Usher's great cross evaded everyone and nestled in the far corner.

Ryan Lunn got our deserved equaliser early in the second half, before Brad smashed in his second and our fourth goal which proved to be the winner.

The whole squad performed brilliantly, but our Man of the Match deservingly went to Joe Mumford for another solid display in the back four.

We're back at the Mytchett Community Centre next Saturday, where we welcome Deepcut in the league.

Here's how we lined up along with our substitutes.

We're back on the road today to play Headley Reserves and hope to continue our unbeaten run.

All our thoughts are with Ropley this afternoon, after our match had to be abandoned due to one of their players suffering a serious looking head injury. We hope the player makes a full recovery!

We travel to Ropley today as we play out the reverse fixture from last week, which ended 1-1.

Should be another good battle on the pitch as we seek to put more points on the board.

Mytchett Athletic 1-1 Ropley

It was a good battle this afternoon as we earned our first point of the league season. Both teams had chances to win the match, so a point is a fair result.

Our Man of the Match went to our captain Dan Spooner, with Joe Annette getting our goal.

We play the reverse fixture next Saturday as we make the trip down the A31. Here is our starting XI and substitutes.
