The new Camberley Leisure Centre has celebrated its latest milestone with an official ground breaking ceremony ⚒
Councillors and officers from SHBC, the Places Leisure Camberley project team and representatives from the 8th Camberley Scout Group gathered earlier this month to mark the official start of the construction of Camberley’s brand-new state-of-the-art leisure centre.
The Mayor of Surrey Heath, Cllr Robin Perry, performed the ceremonial ground breaking at the event - and Pooch the Places Leisure mascot also came along to help! 🐶

** Arena leisure Centre is now closed**
A brand new, multi-million pound state-of- the art leisure Centre will be built in the same location, and is expected to open Spring 2021.
We would like to thank everyone over the last 35 years who has visited us. We look forward to welcoming you at the new Centre when it is ready!

We’re proud to announce that Surrey Heath Borough Council has awarded a 25-year contract to Places Leisure, to design, build, operate and maintain a £22 million leisure centre in Camberley. The new centre is due to open 2021. It will be built on the same footprint as the current Arena Leisure Centre, which will remain open until August 29th2019.
We’ve produced these handy FAQ’s to answer your initial questions and we’ll add answers to your more popular questions. If you have a question that hasn’t been answered, then please see the form at the bottom of the page.
What happens to the current Arena?
The award-winning Arena Centre Leisure Centre, which was built in 1984 and served its community well over the years, sadly is no longer fit for purpose. It’s time to make way for a new centre that better serves the community’s activity needs. It’s important to note that it’s business as usual until August 29th2019, and this is the last day that you will be able to use the centre.
