Not normally one for trends…. But 2016 was a pivotal year for me
It was the year I stepped out of a career I started at 16 years old
I pretended I knew what I was doing, so I wouldn’t look stupid, but really, I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do
Left a long term relationship, which combined with having no idea what I wanted to do completely re-wrote who I was
I was a fresh book, though it felt far from positive
It was the year I embarked on becoming a coach, inspired by my friends through CrossFit
It was the start of my “raving” years (thanks to the legend )
There was a lot of pain, frustration, loss, fear, anxiety and even a bit of self hatred to be honest
But it lead me to rediscover myself, to re-write my story, to think more about myself and be the person I always should of been
There was also a couple of memes thrown in for good measure
Looking back at 2016, it was, at the time, fu***ng awful if I’m honest, but, I came out of it stronger and it formed who I am today
Im lucky I still have those people around me and stay in contact with, some people are just in my heart, which hurts, but that’s what is there to remind us of them
2016, you truly were a wild ride, but thank you, because without you, I wouldn’t be who I am, doing what I do
