It all starts somewhere. ♥️
Running isn’t everyone’s cup of tea — and that’s absolutely fine. But sport, in all its forms, has a wonderful way of bringing people together. Shared experiences, encouragement, friendship, a bit of nervousness, a bit of excitement… and the feeling of being part of something.
Sometimes, all it takes is a little encouragement.
A little support.
A little perseverance.
A little determination.
And sometimes, when the challenge ahead feels bigger than you imagined, simply showing up is the first achievement.
For our younger runners, a 2km might be their first real challenge. It might be the first time they’ve run alongside their friends, the first medal they’ve earned, or simply the first time they’ve discovered that running can actually be fun.
And that matters.
One of the best things about events like the Abington Festival of Running is that it doesn’t have to be about being the fastest.
It can be about having a go.
Doing it with your friends.
Cheering someone else on.
Trying something that feels a little bit scary.
And discovering what you can do.
If you’ve been thinking about signing up, there’s still time.
Come and be part of it.
Come and have a go.
Come and make a memory.
It all starts somewhere.
