League cup quater final result

Greenside 1-2 The Albion

Dominant fist half from the greenside boys today. 2 players pulling up in the warm up seen us lack depth which ultimately cost us over the 90 minutes. The Albion were able to make subs which helped them in the second half & secured them the win. Very much a game of 2 halves and no complaints from our side. We wish the albion all the very best in the remaining rounds of the cup 🤝 next week we have another cup game where we face woodland raiders away in stafford where we look to get back to winning ways 🤞

Colliers 3-2 Greenside

We go out in the quaters this morning against a good battling (fitter) side in Colliers. Not our day today and wish Colliers all the best in the semi final 🤝

We’re in another quater final next week in the championship division cup at home against The Albion.

Our Staffs Cup Quater Final is still on tomorrow despite the poor weather conditions through out the week.

Seighford B 1-1 Greenside

Greenside win 5-4 on penalties.

Last 16 Tb Williamson County Cup.

After 7 weeks without a game due to constant bad weather and the Christmas period the lads were finally back in action today against Seighford B.

We turned up with 12 men and knew we were going to be up against it from the first whistle on a big boggy pitch. The lads dug in and for most parts of the game it was attack vs defence with the Greenside boys do***ng it and battling for each other. The game was scrappy an mostly 1 way traffic second half with goalkeeper flakey pulling out a worldie save to keep is in it & in the 89th minute we scored from a superb strike from Curt Smallman from outside the box to make it 0-1 only to concede a penalty 2 minutes later which was converted to end the game 1-1 at full time.

We won on penalties and every man on the pitch came off in agony having put a serious shift in to get the job done.. everyone was excellent today that turned up. Full credit to every player involved…..into the hat, we play Colliers away next sunday in the Quater final.

TB Williamson cup round 2

Yoxall Rangers 3-3 Greenside

Greenside win 5-4 on penalties.

We travelled over to yoxall today in the second round of the cup.
We knew we needed to turn up and be counted this week after the shocking performance we put out last week.
It was a long hard slog first half playing up hill on a very heavy pitch and went in 1-0 down at half time.

Second half we dominated in large parts & within 5 minutes Cal Smallman made it count by smashing one home to draw us level.
10 minutes later greenside went infront through the one and only postman pat & more pressure on yoxall.
They then got a goal back scoring a fine freekick.
Curt smallman was causing the yoxall defenders havoc and won a penalty.
The postman steps up full of confidence & smashes it home to make it 8 in 8 for the on fire front man.

Yoxall equalised late on and our tired legs were showing in the last 5 minutes of the game but we defended well and took the game to penalties.

We won on penalties 5-4.

Greenside 2-7 AFC Walsall wood.

Shocking result & performance yesterday morning against Walsall wood in the cup.

Not much else to be said about it. We put it behind us now and get ready for a trip to yoxall this sunday where we play yoxall rangers in the second round of the TB Williamson cup.

Warstones athletic 1 - 2 Greenside

Post man Pat delivers again for the Greenside today as we get back to winning ways.

1-0 down at half time in a scrappy game playing against the wind.

Second half started with us making 1 sub at half time. Nippa on for dean.
We started well and got a corner 5 minutes in. Pato delivered & nippa scored with a bullet header.
10 minutes later we got another corner and pato whipped it in with it going straight in the top corner to make it 2-1. Keeper had no chance.

Good solid performance overall from everyone today against a decent side. Into the hat we go 🎩

Next up we face AFC Walsall wood in another cup game.

Riflemen Joiners 2-0 Greenside

Poor day at the office today. Maybe got a bit too complacent after a couple of good results previously. We know we are better than that performance today but its football so we take it on the chin and move on. We forget about the league now for a couple of weeks as we go into the cup competitions, first up is the rescheduled fixture against Warstones next sunday where we will be looking to get back to winning ways.

No game again this sunday as The Albion have called the game off.

We will be back in action on the 26th with a cup game against Warstones from the Wolverhampton premier league. Playing away from home, 11am kick off.

No game for 2 weeks but atleast we will be able to play in our new kit next time out.
