Starting later this year (March/April), I’m going to be putting on some free coaching sessions once a week to help build up my coaching experience. It’ll be at or around Hednesford park probably on a Tuesday evening. Stuff like hill reps, speed work and drills. This morning I began my winter road racing season with a nice little win at the Chasewater Christmas 10k. Not the greatest time but after 4 big weeks of mileage and no taper I’ll take it on a really muddy course with a few hills and tight turns.

Busy morning coaching hill sprints. Personally my least favourite training session, but one that makes a huge difference when added into a training plan.

Tomorrow, I fly out to Madeira to race in the masters European 1500m championships. I was genuinely aiming for a medal till my achilles injury 2 months ago, now I’ll be happy to make the final and aim for the top 10.
Whatever happens, proud of how far I’ve come in the last 5 years. Losing a few stone and regaining racing fitness isn’t easy when you’re as old as me 😂
On my return I’ll be taking coaching and training a lot more seriously, hoping to help others achieve their running and fitness targets.

Seeing people I’m helping run well and improve, is probably more enjoyable than when I have a good race myself. Great progress here in only 3 months of structured coaching 🔥🔥
