Now the dust has settled, can I thank the players for making the Dinas 2 bowl triples day another great year in only its second time of running. The weather was unpredictable but luckily the players didn't get too wet. Many thanks to all the helpers on day greens, bar, catering, raffle and tea and coffee you all worked so hard. A big shout out to our main sponsors Autospray Accident Repair Specialists and Glamorgan Motors and all the rink sponsors for the day.

Dinas Powys travelled to sunny Barry Island today to face Barry Athletic. After Barry won last night Dinas knew it was going to be a tough game with both sides trying to get as many points as they could to secure promotion. Barry raced into an 11 shot lead at the halfway stage.

By 18 end Dinas had manged to pull this back to 4 shots. It was nip and tuck for the next 12 ends, then news came in from the pigeon's landing on rink 1 that Ystradfechan had won 12-2 meaning Dinas needed 3 points from the game to secure promotion.

Barry's tails were also up knowing 12 points or more would certainly keep them in hunt. They did so beating us by 7 shots and wining on 3 rinks - congratulations on your win today.

This was only Dinas's second defeat of the season and puts them 2 points closer to promotion.

Our second team entertained Caerphilly Social at St Andrews Road and took full advantage of home soil wining the game 10-4 and by 3 shots well done captain Willis and team.

Dinas's unbeaten run came to an end today.

Dinas welcomed Ystradfechan to St Andrews Road today with both teams still wanting points to secure promotion it was set for a cracking game.

Ystradfechan started strongly and by 10 ends lead Dinas by 12 shots. Even though Dinas stuck in there until the end Ystradfechan were just too good today for us. The rink count was equal two rinks a piece but Ystradfechan won the game by 23 shots
