Dinas Powys bowling club held there Xmas event again and it was once again a sell out thank you all so much for making it in the rain the club was all dancing and singing

A disappointing post for Dinas Powys Bowls Club

We travelled to Gilfach in what was a relegation decider. Dinas raced out of the blocks and into an early lead but a spirited fight back from Gilfach resulted in them gaining 10 points and more vitally staying in PG1 Division 2.

It's been a struggle for Dinas this year with players departing and players being unavailable for games, but on a plus side the club has shown its bond by sticking together and rebuilding. Special mentions must go to all the newcomers but especially Jason Allen, Andy Vessey and Jason Harries who In their first season have played in regular first team games and haven't looked out of place.

It's will be time to get the cheque book out and book winter training camp to hit the ground running next year in which I know the boys will be trying to bounce right back.

All the best to the sides that remained in the league and to Ely Valley and Beaufort who i believe have made it to Division 1 next year.

Yesterday Dinas Powys entertained Guest Memorial with the wet day it was doubtful if the game was even going to start due to players safety.

But after a little wait, the game eventually started. Dinas needing something big out of the game and Guest needing a couple of points to secure another season in division 2 it was all to play for.

Dinas started the better and raced into a 23 shot lead after 7 ends across the boards, with the rain on and off the green held up well and the game continued. Dinas never took their foot off the gas and by 15 ends were 35 shots up and ran out winners by 42 shots.
