Student led conference held at Cardiff University enhancing science communication across early stage researchers from all over Cardiff and GW4 .
Since 2001, the Speaking of Science conference has been a training ground for doctoral researchers working in natural and applied sciences at Cardiff and neighbouring universities. Maintaining a broad focus, this unique event promotes an ideal arena for interesting and interdisciplinary scientific communication and provides an excellent opportunity to practise your presentation and poster design s
kills in a supervisor-free zone. You will easily mingle with fellow scientists and discuss your research in an open and supportive environment. Conversing with a postgraduate from a different field might be just the spark you needed to come up with a great new idea to finally tackle that challenge you’ve been racking your brains on for weeks! Speaking of Science is student-led and student-focused, so whether you are a junior researcher or in the final year of your project, all stages of research are welcome. This year’s event will take place on Thursday 4 May in Cardiff University’s Hadyn Ellis building and will feature oral and poster presentations. The conference is free of charge, cash prizes will be awarded for the best talks and posters and free lunch is included.
