When you literally run from the school gates after dropping the children off at school. No work. No children. The wind in my face. FREEDOM!!!

And that's a wrap for August.

Finished my month with a 5km and a total of 103.9km for August. Running was tricky this month with the isolation at the beginning, but did my best to battle back.

Very much looking forward to doing some half marathon training next month.

Don't you love it when you buy trail shoes but the forests are as dry as anything. However go for a run by your local woods and reservoir and your trainers get caked in mud. 🤦

This week I am at work on Thursday and Saturday. So I am playing a bit of dress up with the girls and watching Frozen (obviously). I am so grateful to have this time to spend with them. I know that they love all the presents they got, but hopefully their memories will be of when Mom spent time with them and dressed up like a goof.

Day 15 of the Kindness Challenge.....

💫Spread kindness by sharing quotes that make you happy💫

As it's I decided to use this lovely quote from In Julia Child.

'Find something you are passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.'

Happy Sunday guys.

Day 12 of the Kindness Challenge.....

In March 2017 two TfL employees decided to write a little note on their service announcement whiteboard. There was a Craig David concert on so they came up with a funny Craig David inspired service announcement. Peoples stopped, laughed, took pictures and they noticed how happy it made the commuters.

3 years on and All on The Board has a huge Instagram and Twitter following and continues to make people smile as well as raising awareness about important issues. It’s amazing how a few words can change someone’s day.

As I had a lovely lesson with KT Wild and she somehow got me into the Tulip I feel this is appropriate:

'And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud became more painful than the risk it took to blossom'

Day 10 of the Kindness Challenge.....

💫If you hear someone saying something negative counter it with something positive💫

I recently read an article that stated how to exercise safely. One of the suggestions was for ladies not to exercise in the dark. Now I totally get where they are coming from after all you never know who is out there.

However I stick to well lit routes. I wear a lot of high Viz and a running light. My husband has an app on his phone so he knows where I am going. Also he does call me if I am out longer than 30 mins in the dark.

We should be encouraging people to go outside for their exercise. They are cooped up enough as it is!

I feel it's time for a quick reflection over the last 17 days:

Q. Did you have enough clothes?
A. Yes. And when I ran out of underpants I decided to wash them.

Q. Did you have enough bedding?
A. Yes. I did clean sheet Tuesday. So I changed my bedding twice. Emily wet through her blankets so we needed to put them in the wash. But Stephanie, Ian and I didn't vomit or mess our duvets so we didn't need a new one.

Q. Did you have enough books?
A. Yes. Actually in terms of the girls we have too many books so if anyone knows where we can donate some.....

Q. Did you have enough paper?
A. Yes. Stephanie has done a lot of drawing over the last 17 days, but we didn't run out.

I know this is me being facetious, but can you honestly say the last 17 days have been the apocalypse? No.

Again I apologize if I offend any of my friends or followers here, but after today's walk, today I will be having a bit of a moan about IRRESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERS!!!
🐕
We went for a lovely walk in but all that I could see were the little black plastic dog bags. I feel like that is worse than letting your dog mess on the trail. You gave gone to the trouble of bringing a bag, but you can't be bothered to actually dispose of it correctly 🤦.

Day 11 of the firebreak lockdown.

Todays act of kindness is to focus on self care and self kindness.

I must admit when I first started self care 2 years ago I was clueless. I always thought self care was getting my eyebrows, hair and nails done. Now don't get me wrong that is you taking care of yourself. However is that changing you into the person you want to be mentally, spiritually and emotionally?

I then picked up this little book and it turned my world around.

This book is about making self care a priority first thing not only to get self care done before excuses sabotage you, but to also set your day off in the most positive and productive way. The book is divided into six parts of self care components that the author describes as the life SAVERS: silence, affirmations, visualisation, exercise, reading and scribing. Showing that you need to nuture yourself as a whole. You can do this for 6 minutes, you can do this for 60 minutes the morning routine is adaptable. But it is just important to take action and do it!

Halloween afternoon tea. My attempt at: pastry snakes, sausage mummies, devilled eggs, spider pizzas, squeamish squares, cupcake owls, spider cookies and kiwi slime pies.

Another lesson I learned from was to assess my emotional attachment to certain things and if you don't use them for their purpose to let them go.

I bid a fond farewell to my after 5 years. I have worn 2 babies in this coat front and back. I have worn when I was and wasn't pregnant. Ian even wore it. We took it on holiday to baby groups.

But I haven't worn Emily in ages. I had to acknowledge that she was a 2 year old who didn't want to be worn and start sorting through my baby wearing items. I put this coat on a selling site and it went. I was happy and sad. I was glad Ian posted it as I think I would have been upset.

But now I need a new coat. Any suggestions?
