💪 If you are strapping up from rep one, every set, every session - you are using them wrong.
Straps are a tool. Not a shortcut.
On any pulling movement - deadlifts, RDLs, rows, lat pulldowns - your target muscle should be what fails. Not your grip. Start without straps. When your hands start to go, straps on. Now your grip is out of the equation and the muscle has to actually work until it gives out. That is the set that builds the muscle.
If you strap up from the first rep every time, your grip never gets challenged. Never gets stronger. That catches up with you.
One exception. Injury or disability - straps on from the start, every set, no debate. That is exactly what they are there for.
Straps on at the right moment make your training better. Straps on too early hold you back.

Most vegan proteins are complete. This graphic proves it.
Five green proteins - edamame, tofu, tempeh, TVP, h**p seeds all contain every essential amino acid your body needs. DIAAS scores comparable to chicken and beef. That is not a vegan claim. That is the FAO’s own measure of protein quality.
DIAAS - the FAO’s gold standard for protein quality. It measures how much protein your body actually absorbs, not just what is in the food. Soy scores 84–100. Comparable to animal protein.
The amber proteins - lentils, chickpeas, black beans are missing one amino acid. Methionine. Cover it by eating rice, oats, or any grain in the same day. Not the same meal. The same day.
Seitan sits in red. Not because it is bad - 24g of protein per 100g. But it is low in lysine. Pair it with any legume across the day and the gap is closed.
Red does not mean avoid. It means pair it.
Build every meal around a green protein. Use the rest freely.

Aldi vegan protein finds, not bad but missed verity. No essential like TVP or seitan.
Not to be boring and pick tofu as my favourite, man I love tofu!

And black-eyed peas made my list — I’ve been eating them constantly lately. Slightly underused in UK vegan cooking and genuinely one of my favourites right now 🖤
Worth a mention on fake meats - products like THIS!, Vivera, and Linda McCartney average around 16–17g of protein per 100g, zero cholesterol, and a fraction of the saturated fat found in animal meat. They also produce significantly less carbon and use far less land and water to produce. Not whole food, but a solid convenient option 🌍
Every source on this list. Zero compromise. Zero cholesterol.
