πβ€οΈ DARTS KNOCKOUTβ€οΈπ
We recently held our 6th darts competition at the club β 45 keen darters entering the knockout comp. The draw for the prelim and the first round was made and some excellent arrows was witnessed during the early exchanges. Each game was a best of 3 leg matches with a lot of games going to the deciding leg.
As the day went on the draw started to open up for the quality players on show with Board one taking the main games during the day.
The final 4 pitted Jack Finnegan (newly appointed captain of the Nib darts team) against Tim Giles who had battled through the rounds all afternoon . Some excellent darts saw Jack take the win and his place in the final. The other semi final saw Rob Smith reproduce some great darts as he went up against Paul Simpson β Paul has played in the local leagues for a number of years and has always been a quality player. It was in this game that Paul chipped in the highest checkout of 120 as he won through to face Jack in the best of 5 leg final.
The final was best of order with both players in fine form during the day β a lot of the support seemed to go for Jack although Paul had his supporters in the crowd also. The game was keenly contested with both players knocking in decent scores β it was only fitting it went to a deciding leg and it was Jack who threw the winning dart to claim the prize money on offer.
Jack joins the list of winners β Carl Cochrane (twice), Nathan Burgess, Ray Brocklebank and Connor Thorpe β may be time to get a trophy for this comp now !!β¦. And so we have π
Thanks to the players and markers during the day and to everyone that helped.
