Last night was another big step forward for Angus County Camanachd as we held our first senior training session at DISC in Dundee.

Despite the rain, we had 14 players turn up for our first session, which was a fantastic start. A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the night such a success.

Our aim has always been to bring senior shinty to the Tayside and North East Fife areas, giving local people the opportunity to play the sport without having to travel long distances.

We are now working towards entering a senior team into the Camanachd Association leagues for the 2027 season.

We have already made great progress with our junior section, and having a senior team will hopefully give our younger players something to aim for as they get older.

There is still a lot of work to be done, but it’s great to finally see things starting to come together.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SPONSORS AND DONATIONS

As a non-profit community club run by volunteers, we are now looking for local businesses and individuals who might be interested in helping us get our senior team up and running.

Any sponsorship or donations would be greatly appreciated and would help towards pitch hire, playing strips, equipment and other costs involved in setting up the team.

We would love to hear from any businesses across Tayside and North East Fife who would like to get involved and help us bring shinty to more people in the area.

If you are interested in supporting the club, please get in touch through our page.

We are still at the early stages, but hopefully this is the start of something that will continue to grow for many years to come.

Thanks again to everyone who has supported us so

What a fantastic two days of shinty!

Our Angus County Camanachd Summer Shinty Camp has come to an end, and what a brilliant success it was!

We welcomed 24 young players across the two days, with children of all abilities enjoying fun games, learning new skills, and making new friends. We were especially delighted to welcome two participants all the way from the USA – it’s fantastic to see shinty bringing people together from across the world!

A huge thank you to Euan, our Camanachd Association Development Officer, for all his hard work and support in helping run the camp. Your enthusiasm and dedication made a real difference.

A massive thank you also goes to all of our volunteer coaches who gave up their time to make the camp possible. Without your commitment, energy, and passion for the game, events like this simply couldn’t happen.

Most importantly, thank you to all the parents and children for your support. We hope everyone had a brilliant time, learned something new, and leaves with even more enthusiasm for shinty.

Looking forward to next years camp 💪🏻
