🏉 U16 Joint Training Session 🏉

On Saturday 29th August, our Under 16 squad held a joint training session with the Medallion squad from Carrickfergus Grammar School.

It was a fantastic session for both squads, providing a great opportunity to train together, build relationships and prepare for the season ahead.

A big thank you to Dylan our Under 16's coach and Mr Kennedy from CGS for organising the session, and best of luck to both teams for the season ahead! 🔴⚫

🎙️ A Whistle Worth Hearing!

Elite International Referee Andrew Brace Coming to CRFC

CRFC are delighted to announce that current elite international referee Andrew Brace will be visiting the club on Thursday 10th September at 7.00pm.

Andrew will provide an insightful and engaging session covering modern refereeing standards, decision-making, game management and rugby etiquette. This promises to be a valuable evening for players, coaches and rugby enthusiasts alike.

The event is open to all CRFC players and coaches, as well as school players and coaches from across our local rugby community and clubs throughout Ulster.

We look forward to welcoming Andrew, affectionately known as "Bracey", to Tom Simms Memorial Park for what promises to be an informative and enjoyable evening.

This season, we would like to highlight one of our referees every week on their match, their travels and achievements.

This week, we have Peter Doherty who officiated an eventful contest between Carrickfergus Rugby Football Club and Letterkenny Rugby Club in Championship 2.

Carrickfergus RFC made the perfect start to their Championship 2 campaign with a dominant 45–0 victory over Letterkenny at home.

From the opening whistle, Carrickfergus set the tempo and played with real attacking intent, putting Letterkenny under sustained pressure. The hosts’ work with ball in hand was rewarded with seven tries, as they consistently found ways through the visiting defence.

At the other end of the pitch, Carrickfergus were equally impressive. A committed defensive display kept Letterkenny scoreless throughout, securing a deserved clean sheet and underlining the all-round quality of the performance.

The scoreboard told the story at full time:

It was a statement opening performance from Carrickfergus, combining attacking firepower with defensive discipline to lay down an early marker in Championship 2.
