How often should you train per week? 🤔
The honest answer is… it depends.
There is no magic number that works for everyone. Your ideal training frequency depends on a number of things:
✅ Training age:
A beginner can make incredible progress with 2–3 sessions per week. More experienced lifters may benefit from 4–6 sessions to continue progressing.
✅ Your goals:
Building muscle? Strength training 3–5 days per week works well for most people.
Improving fitness? A mix of resistance training, cardio and mobility may be better.
✅ Recovery ability:
Your sleep, stress levels, work, age, and lifestyle all affect how much training you can handle. More is not always better.
✅ Nutrition:
Training is the stimulus — food and recovery are what allow your body to adapt. Poor nutrition can limit progress, regardless of how often you train.
✅ Type of training:
A full-body workout 3 times per week is very different from a high-volume bodybuilding split 5–6 times per week.
For most people:
🏋️ Beginner: 2–3 sessions per week
💪 Intermediate: 3–5 sessions per week
🔥 Advanced: 4–6+ sessions per week (if recovery supports it)
The best training plan is the one you can repeat consistently for months and years.
Don’t chase the “perfect” routine. Find the amount you can recover from, enjoy, and progress with.
Consistency beats intensity. Every time.
