Come for the run… stay for the random conversations afterwards. 😂

This week’s agenda:
🐶 Dogs…
🐶 More dogs…
🚌 Pub crawls on a bus…
🥃 Tequila…
📸 And… exactly how many attempts does it take to get one decent group photo? (Answer: definitely more than one! 😂)

No idea how we got from one topic to the next, but that’s what Sunday mornings are all about.

Great run, great recovery, plenty of laughs, and a sauna and ice bath to finish it off. Looking forward to doing it all again.

Follow us and for more….

Who doesn’t love an early Sunday morning run? ☀️🏃‍♂️

Fresh air. Quiet roads and trails. The perfect way to start the day—and get a few miles in before joining the rest of the crew at Reyt Run Club.

Whether you’re chasing a PB, training for your next event, or simply getting the miles in, every run counts.

Need a hand with your running? Drop me a message—I’m always happy to help. 💬

…or just drop me a follow. 😃

Have a brilliant Sunday! 🙌 (and yes I am still representing Yorkshire with the tee)

Fancy joining tomorrow, or in future… 🧡

Yorkshire made me a runner. Coaching gives me the chance to give something back. 💙💛

From wet marathon finishes in York, to local 10Ks, busy start lines, quiet trails and plenty of proper Yorkshire weather, running here has given me some brilliant memories.

It has also given me a community.

I’m proud to be Chair and the coach at Savvy Park Runrz | Castleford Running Club , helping people enjoy running, build confidence and feel part of something.

Through SAVR Run, I also offer structured training plans, coached sessions and individual support for runners working towards events such as the Castleford 10K Castleford Tigers RLFC , Great North Run Great Run and The Altra Yorkshire Marathon .

Whether you’re starting out, stepping up in distance or chasing a new PB, there’s still time to make progress with the right support.

Training for an event and fancy a bit of guidance? Drop me a message.

Happy Yorkshire Day. Here’s to more miles, more races and more good people along the way.

Happy Yorkshire Day 💙💛

A wet one at the Yorkshire Marathon, but still one of those days that reminds you what running is all about.

Great events, great support and plenty of Yorkshire grit.

As a running coach, I help runners prepare for races like this with structured plans, coached sessions and support built around their own goals.

More Yorkshire running memories later. 🏃‍♂️

Second run of the day… and well worth it. 🏃‍♂️🍊

Good turn out with the Five Town Runners for another social run this evening, and somehow ended up as the unofficial pacer while Sophia chased down a new 5K PB. 💪

That’s one of the things I love about running. One day you’re chasing your own goals, the next you’re helping someone else reach theirs.

Plenty of laughs, great conversations, a few miles ticked off… and, of course, the legendary post-run oranges made a very welcome return! 🍊😂

Looking forward to the next one.

You don’t always need something with “PROTEIN” written across the packaging.

- not Instagram perfect but it tasted nice 😋 😂

This simple post-run meal contains:

🥚 4 eggs
🍞 Sourdough toast
🥑 Avocado
🍅 Tomato

Together, that’s roughly 40–45g of protein, along with plenty of carbohydrates to help replenish glycogen, healthy fats and nutrients including potassium, vitamin C, folate and magnesium.

The eggs are the main protein source, but the sourdough contributes too. Protein is found in far more everyday foods than people sometimes realise—you just need to look at the nutritional information and consider the whole meal.

I’ve also added a little salt to the eggs. After a sweaty run, particularly in warmer weather, replacing some of the sodium you’ve lost can support rehydration.

Protein shakes and high-protein products can be convenient, but they’re not the only option. Sometimes ordinary food already gives you exactly what you need.

Oh and Yorkshire Tea 👌

Chocolate milk. Doughnuts. Running. It’s about balance. 🍫🥛🍩

Great to catch up with Jo this morning. No planned distance, just plenty of chatting and putting the world to rights (just need a pic next time 😂). Podcasts next time for the agenda😃

We probably could have carried on running for ages, but Jo had to be back and over 15km… so this one is definitely to be continued.

A cracking little route too, heading into Fairburn Ings from the opposite side and enjoying some lovely trails in the sunshine.

As always, recovery started with chocolate milk. I keep telling everyone (including Jo) — it’s full of protein, gives you the carbs you need after a run and includes plenty of other useful nutrients too. A simple and brilliant post-run drink.

Then there were the bargain doughnuts… because balance matters. 😂

And somehow I got dragged into buying what appears to be a very trendy Gym Beer. At only 50p a can, it seemed rude not to give it a whirl.

Sometimes the best runs aren’t about pace or distance. They’re about good company, good conversation and enjoying the miles.

What’s your go-to post-run recovery? I can’t wait to see what Jo has 😉

You might start running to change how you look… then realise it’s changed how you feel.

For me, running has become about far more than fitness, times or medals. It’s helped my mental health, given me confidence, brought new friendships and helped me find direction when I’ve needed it most.

It hasn’t magically fixed everything — but it has changed a lot.
