Awards Night on Friday for the Pride in Medway Award for Outstanding Fundraiser

It was an honour to be nominated and make it through as a finalist. Unfortunately, Race for Others - Every Lap Matters didn’t win this year but that only pushes me and makes me more determined, as I know what Race for Others is and can be going forward 💪🏻🏆

A huge thank you to everyone that has been involved with Race For Others. From a donation to helping support the event. It wouldn’t be possible without all of you 🧡

A special thank you to my family for always being there and supporting me, including at the awards night ❤️

And to Paula Quirk
None of this would have ever been possible without you Mum. Every bit of my success will always be linked to you. Even now you’re the one nominating me for these awards. I’m so proud that you are my mum and couldn’t be more thankful that you are still here being my mum. Love you always ❤️

❤️ BIG NEWS ❤️

I’m incredibly proud (and honestly a bit shocked!) to share that I have been named a FINALIST in the 2026 Pride in Medway Awards.

What started as a small idea to turn something difficult in my life into something positive has grown into something I could never have imagined.

But this nomination isn’t about me.

It belongs to every single person in this photo and everyone who has supported me and Race for Others along the way.

To everyone who has:🏁 raced🎭 dressed up in ridiculous costumes💙 donated🎟 bought raffle tickets🤝Buckmore Park staff🧍‍♂️shared posts👏 or simply turned up to support

THANK YOU!

Because of all of you, together we’ve raised over £30,000 for charity.

Seeing so many people come together to have fun, support each other and help others means the world to me.

This nomination belongs to all of you.

No matter what happens at the awards, I’m incredibly proud of what our Race for Others community has achieved together.

💙 Every Lap Matters 💙

Karting enthusiast Megan Quirk, 26, has raised over £30,000 for charity through her annual event, Race for Others – Every Lap Matters,

Held at Buckmore Park, the event celebrated its fifth anniversary this year

Since launching the event in 2021 — after her mum’s breast cancer diagnosis — Megan has grown Race for Others into a highlight of the track calendar, bringing together drivers and supporters from across the region.

She said: "When Mum was diagnosed, I just wanted to do something to help.

"Karting at Buckmore has always been my passion, so creating Race for Others there gave me a way to make a difference.

"Every lap really does matter, because every lap helps someone else.”
