What a mighty two weeks!!! The Sappers played some fantastic cricket winning 4/8 of their pre-season tour to South Africa.

But most importantly gelled as one strong team, whilst getting pushed out of your comfort zone on certain activities such as shark diving and zip lining.

Also going the opposite living life in luxury tasting amazing wines in the vineyards of Stellenbosch to playing golf on some of the most exclusive courses!

The Sappers also didn’t struggle to dip into the local cuisine, whether that was from our amazing hosts doing us a Brai or a local restaurant rushing around to accommodate an 18 strong team meal.

This trip wasn’t just about the cricket it was about seeing different cultures and exploring parts of the globe one may not have even thought about going to!!

We are so lucky to of had such amazing support from our sponsors,
So one last amazing thank you from us, you have really made life long memories for a great team of Sappers now eager to go for this season.

Thanks to the help of John scoring 75 and Ross scoring 73! 🏏

Bellville then came on failing to reach the target, with Ross taking 3 wickets and T taking a mighty 4 wickets to help end their innings.

Day 8 Update!!

WOW! What a day for the Sappers, both T20 fixtures involved pure entertainment, great cricket, two more wins in the pre-season and most importantly having a great time getting to know everyone at Durbanville CC!

The first game the Sappers batted first scoring a magnificent 176 runs, which Durbanville came short of scoring 129-7 off their 20 overs. Special mention to Seats scoring 72 runs and Stav bowling two overs 2-2!!

The second game wow!!! Under the floodlights in South Africa what an experience. The Sappers batted first yet again scoring 133, Durbanville certainly put up a good fight completing their innings at 123 runs, it certainly was a thrilling last over!
2-16 off of 4 overs for Ross and Johns HUGE 6 against a first-class bowler.

Afterwards we were hosted by the amazing Durbanville, with both teams exchanging gifts, cementing a great relationship between our clubs. Thank you for having us!!
