Dad’s Army Football Team
Football team established in the 90’s with an ethos of playing, socialising & positive mental health

June is men’s mental health month. But we need to make sure we shine a spotlight on mental health 12 months of the year.
Every 90 minutes in England, a life is lost to su***de. The same amount of time a football match lasts.
75% of those lives lost are men.
We’re on the verge of the World Cup, an exciting time for many football fans up and down the country as football fever grips the nation. But for some the darkness of a mental health crisis will be taking grip.
We want to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and help men through the power of conversation and football.

UNBELIEVABLE SCENES IN CHEDDAR!
Mohamed Salah signs for Dad’s Army Football Team!
BREAKING NEWS: Shock Transfer as Mohamed Salah Signs for Dad’s Army Football Team
In one of the most unexpected moves in football history, global superstar Mohamed Salah has completed a sensational switch from Liverpool FC to the legendary (and slightly chaotic) Dad’s Army Football Team.
The deal, confirmed early this morning, has stunned fans and pundits alike, with many initially believing it to be an elaborate April Fools’ joke. However, Salah appeared in full kit at a hastily arranged press conference, grinning as he signed on the dotted line in his new shirt—reportedly still slightly damp from being washed with the team’s bibs.
“I’m really excited,” Salah told reporters. “This is a different challenge for me. I’ve played in big stadiums, but nothing prepares you for Sunday mornings with this squad.”
He went on to highlight what he’s most looking forward to:
“Hearing Alex moan from kickoff to final whistle—it’s like having a constant soundtrack.”
“Watching Simon try to hide from the sun. I’ve played in Egypt… I’ve never seen anything like it.”
“Arek shouting ‘go ball, no foul!’ every 30 seconds—I think I understand it… maybe.”
“And of course, I’ve heard a lot about the famous Greavesy Reservoir Shot. I can’t wait to see it live… preferably not while I’m walking my dog.”
Sources close to the club say negotiations broke down several times over concerns about post-match refreshments and whether Salah would be expected to bring his own orange slices.
Team manager Mart described the signing as “a statement of intent,” adding: “We’ve always said we were just one world-class player away from turning things around. Also, he said he’d give us a lift to matches, which helps.”
Fans have already begun speculating how Salah will fit into the squad’s unique tactical system, often described as “fluid chaos,” with one regular attendee noting: “If he can survive five minutes without someone arguing over who’s man that was, he’ll be fine.”
Salah’s first appearance is expected to be this week at Wednesday ‘Training’ though insiders suggest the session may be delayed pending a group chat debate about payment of subs.
One thing is certain: Sunday league football may never be the same again. But as always, football is the winner!
