Candles lit a huge part of 12th-century life: homes, churches, workshops and such. At Historia Normannis, members recreate techniques and use researched materials. Of course a candle was a Scribes best friend, as they poured over manuscripts and over texts.

Come and Join the Fun!!

Arrows weren't mass-produced in the same way we use factories nowadays, they were handcrafted with precision, patience, and skill.

At Historia Normannis, our fletchers recreate the full craft of arrow-making, including:

Shaft shaping & finishing

Setting feather fletchings

Using period appropriate glues in our displays Thread whipping to secure fletching and reinforce the shaft And thats only naming a few things Normannis fletchers can do.

If you've ever wondered how arrows were built, what the different heads were for, or how a trained fletcher could make hundreds of arrows for war or the hunt, come see us this weekend.
