Update on entries, we have a total of 45 teams entered so far so that is currently a prize pot of £1350. We also have the £1000 scratch division pot as well.

Cut off for me to decide if squads are to be run is MIDNIGHT FRIDAY 16TH OCTOBER. Ideally 6 teams per squad would be ok to go ahead!

Garry Cooper Cup Entries and Deadline

Hi everyone,

With the tournament fast approaching, I wanted to post again to try and get more entries! With the current state of affairs we cannot run, I need a minimum of 6 teams per squad to make it viable. Friday night blind tournament has not took up as well as I thought it would have, this is also in jeopardy of being cancelled. Below is availability of squads, if you want to enter please do so online or message me directly. I have until Friday 16th October to make this go ahead, otherwise I will be forced to give lanes back to the bowl.

After feedback from last year, people wanted more variety of colour. So this year… you choose! Our friends as Striking shirts have a variety of colours and are happy to fulfil where possible. We will confirm if unavailable.

This Tournament is in support of Ashgate Hospice, Derbyshire area tenpin association and Nottinghamshire tenpin Bowling association, the bowling counties Garry represented.

We are on the slightly smaller side this year with the intention to be an “all out” event every other year. That being said, it’s a perfect opportunity to give back to bowling whilst still supporting an organisation close to Garry’s care. The entry fee has gone up to £60 per team this year but the increase is all going to prize fund so more money for the bowlers.

It goes without saying, without the support of our sponsors and helpers we wouldn’t have run this year. Thank you Chesterfield Bowl, Robbos Pro Shop, Pizza Portal, East Midlands Catering and Striking shirts!

Squads at 5:30pm/7pm/8:30pm
20 spaces per squad (Doubles pace)
3 games - 9 pin tap (no handicap)

PRIZE POOL - Maximum of £300 (60 entrants)

🎳 GCC Schedule and Format 🎳

Slight change from last year, format will be re-entry Doubles AND singles. Entry form and final details will be available within the next week.

👀👀 Better late than never…

🎳 Results 🎳

So our very first champions are… Steve Kay and Jamie Dolan (Powerplay Pro Shop)

Posting a fantastic 1468 scratch for 1507 with handicap. That was tough to beat. Steve’s phenomenal 778 and Jamie was no slack at 690.

In 2nd was Chesterfields own “Double Trouble” - George and Bobby Layton with 1442 (hcp). Fantastic work lads

3rd place goes to Craig Parker and our Youngest senior Simon Marshall, posting 1425 in the last squad of the tournament.

In our scratch division, sponsored by East Midlands Catering service: (ruling states that a team of the same two bowlers can only cash once)

1st £500: Robbos Pro shop 1414 - Craig Parker and Glenn Robson
2nd £350: Suspect Hard Drives 🙄 Rob Harding and Warren Crookes
