⚽️ MATCH REPORT | Bolsover Town U9s v Staveley Miners Welfare ⚽️

Today we played a new team for the players in Staveley Miners Welfare, and what a game it was! 👏

The message from me today was short and sweet — believe in yourselves, move the ball and work hard for one another.

Both teams played some fantastic football, defended really well and both goalkeepers made some brilliant saves throughout the game.

In the first half, we looked to do exactly what we’d spoken about. We created chances and some really well-worked play saw us go a few goals ahead, but Staveley never let us rest. They kept working hard, scored some good goals themselves and made it a really entertaining first half.

At half-time we were honest with the players and told them we wanted more of the same — keep playing as a team, keep moving the ball and keep showing for one another.

The second half was again a great advert for U9s football. Both teams continued to create chances, attack and test both goalkeepers. The goals kept coming for Bolsover, but huge credit to Staveley who worked relentlessly hard right until the final whistle and scored some themselves.

One of my personal highlights today was a really well-worked team goal. It started with a strong tackle, we worked the ball forward, played some lovely one-twos and finished with a goal. I genuinely don’t think the ball left the grass! 👌⚽️

That’s what we love seeing — players working for each other and playing football the way we know they can.

A massive well done to both teams today. Plenty of goals, plenty of effort and some really good football from both sides. 👏

We wish Staveley Miners Welfare all the best for the season ahead and hopefully we’ll see you again soon! 🤝⚽️

Player of the Month – July 🏆

After a fantastic month of football, our supporters have voted Bray as July’s Player of the Month.

Bray has been ever-present throughout training sessions, tournaments, and friendly matches, and his hard work is really starting to show. His development defensively has been outstanding, while his composure on the ball and quality of passing have added so much to the team. Most importantly, he listens, learns, and gives everything for the badge every time he steps onto the pitch.

As a coach, that’s all you can ask for, and Bray thoroughly deserves this recognition.

A special mention also goes to Ollie, who has settled into the group brilliantly since joining us. He has fitted in as though he has been part of the team for years. His understanding of the game, awareness, and attitude have been excellent, and he has already become a very important member of the squad.

Congratulations to both boys. Keep working hard and enjoying your football.
