I guess it is worth all the hard work. The cabbage was a swap from a neighbour for some gherkins.

According to an article in today’s Guardian staff in the UK are logging on for 2 hours longer at home and facing bigger workloads. Is this you? If so what can you do about it?
Some tips as follows:
Learn to prioritise-work to the rule developed by Pareto,an Italian economist, that 80% of your results come from 20% effort.
Know when you are most effective- do you concentrate better for example first thing in the morning?
Have set work hours and stick to them - this might be more difficult if you are struggling to balance work with home schooling, but try to plot work time and stick to it.
Be realistic - do a little self analysis at the end of each day / week- what has worked, not worked and tweak accordingly.
Be assertive- it is ok sometimes to say no.
Look after your ESP (emotional, spiritual and physical health) - this will help you function better and complete tasks in less time.

Improve your wellbeing. A healthier you can hugely benefit your career progress. Think of those days when you were feeling sluggish at work and failed to get the simplest task done. Then think of days when you were full of energy and sailed through the day. Most days can feel like the latter if you look after your emotional, spiritual and physical (ESP) wellbeing. I feel passionately about this and have incorporated ESP wellbeing into my coaching practice. Let me help you make these changes. Zoom sessions now available. Lovely day at Walthamstow Wetlands. Let’s hope weather stays like this throughout lockdown. Getting out in nature certainly helps us to cope.

In an article today in the Guardian the shocking news is that the rate of redundancy is at its highest since records began as a result of Covid-19.
So what can you do:
Get advice so you fully understand your rights. Review your finances. Recognise that redundancy is not (normally) personal. Update your CV. Tap into your network. Look at this as an opportunity to change direction. Stay positive. Be kind to yourself. For support contact Pat Hayden Coaching Solutions. [email protected]. www.pathayden.co.uk
