Leyton U11’s were absolutely brilliant on Sunday against Grays Athletic Boys . The passing was first rate, the shooting was fantastic, and the effort from every single player was amazing! Some amazing goals from Maria, Zayn and Frankie. It is evident to see how much the girls are improving and starting to gel as a team. The movement, teamwork and confidence on the ball are getting better every week, which is so exciting to see. It was such an exciting game to watch, and continues the upwards trend for the season.

The u12’s faced a super strong Takely boys team whose previous matches had all ended in double digit victories. But the girls, as ever, weren’t intimidated and were aggressive from the off. Marnie and Alice were solid at the back - Alice showing an incredible awareness in her new position as a defender. In midfield, Joyce was once again a beast, covering more ground than Declan Rice on a good day. Ably marshalled by Lily’s dainty footwork, Isabella’s energy, Diya’s aggression and Evangeline who never gave up a battle. Up front Bonnie was not letting the boys have it their way, coming close on multiple occasions and Jocasta brought her energy and big smile. As ever Jaiya was a force in goal making multiple world class saves. The girls did themselves proud and came away beaming with the boys saying they were the best team that had played this season.
