Friday night was a fantastic experience for our lads as we took on Charlton U14s Advanced Academy in a thrilling and highly competitive match. 💪⚽️

A hard-fought game from start to finish, with our boys showing incredible character, quality, and determination against top opposition. Despite an unlucky 5-3 result, the scoreline doesn’t tell the full story — hitting the post and crossbar proved just how close we were to taking even more from the game.

So proud of the effort, attitude, and resilience shown by every player. These are the experiences that help us grow, learn, and push forward. 👏

🌟 Meet the Team: Pete Bethell – Director of Coaching 🌟

We're proud to introduce Pete Bethell, our Director of Coaching, whose experience and passion for youth development are second to none!

With over 25 years of coaching experience at the Academy level, Pete has worked with some of the biggest names in football, including:

⚽ Fulham
⚽ Brighton
⚽ Liverpool
⚽ Charlton Athletic
⚽ Tottenham Hotspur

Beyond the pitch, Pete has played a key role in Academy Recruitment, holding full-time positions at:

He currently serves as a Regional Recruitment Coordinator for Gillingham F.C., identifying and nurturing the next generation of football talent.

Pete’s coaching journey also includes successful spells at school, district, and Kent Youth League levels. He now brings his vast experience to Cray Wanderers, coaching both the U18 Kent Youth League and U16 Junior Premier League teams.
