We are hosting our annual Clinics Day at the River next week! This is a FREE opportunity for students who are not new to university (eg. Students in 2nd year and above, from any study programme) to meet the committee and members of RUMSBC, try a new sport, and have a chill afternoon out in the sun (hopefully!) before the chaos of Freshers Week. ☀️

We understand that it can be a bit daunting trying something new, especially as someone who isn't a fresher. CDATR is there for you to be able to try something new, surrounded by those in a similar position!! 💛💙

DISCLAIMER ‼️: This event is aimed at students in Year 2 & above. Freshers, we have something for you the week after 😉!!

Finally, it’s the one we’ve all been waiting for!! Mother has arrivedddd… Meet our PRESIDENT this year 👑!!

After an absolutely unreal year as our Novice Women’s Captain, Mother Ella is back for another year – except this time, she’s running the whole club. And honestly, I couldn’t think of anyone better for the job.

Last year, she raised an entire army of Mini Divas, and with six of them joining her on committee, this year the entire club will be under her divafication regime (the influence is truly unmatched).

Ella is one of the best people to be around and is truly a vibe on and off the water. You will often find her screaming from the launch, screaming at Sports Night or screaming from the sidelines supporting her RUMSBC family.

The Novice Women genuinely had the best year ever with Ella as captain, and if last year was anything to go by, watch this space – I know we’re going to have such a fun year with her as President. I can't wait to see what she does with the club this year!!! 💕🚣

Next up in the Big 3 is Mr. RUMSBC himself… Meet , returning as our TREASURER this year!!

As they say: if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. If it is broke, Dylan will fix it. So, after doing such a good job keeping the club’s finances in check last year, Dylan is back for round two. Honestly, it’s difficult to think of anything he doesn’t do for RUMSBC; he helped us get a new boat last year, has just developed a new app for us with the Boatswains, and I genuinely think the club would stop running without him.

He was also part of the Senior Men’s crew that won UH Head!!! Dylan’s dedication to the club is unmatched, and I’m sure he’ll have another great year keeping everything running and, most importantly, making sure we don’t end up broke!

Now introducing the first of the Big 3... Meet Etienne Royer-Gray our SAFETY & WELFARE OFFICER for the second year running!!

Now in his 6th year of Medicine, Eti is a RUMSBC veteran, he has now been on committee every year since he was in 2nd year (we thank you for your service 🫡). And after doing a great job keeping us safe and well last year, he has returned to single-handedly increase the average age of committee this year.

This unc has seen the club through its highs and lows; such as his recent UH win with the Senior Men and this year's Sports Ball – so I personally can not think of anyone better to trust with of safety and welfare for another year.

Here’s to another year of Etienne keeping us all safe, well and (hopefully) slightly less chaotic!!!

Meet Michele Accardo our SENIOR MEN’S CAPTAIN this year!!

As well as having great hair and being Italian, Michele has an inspiring dedication to attending erg sessions, almost a decade of rowing experience, a UH Head win with the Senior Men under his belt and he’s ready to lead the boys into another year of medals!!

He has many skills, including biscuit procurement, but most notably, Sports Night avoidance. Maybe if we put an erg in the Huntley, we’ll see him at Sports Night a little more often this year??

No, you’re not losing your mind, it’s Rohini… AGAIN!!! As if being Cox Captain wasn’t enough, Rohini is adding SENIOR WOMEN’S CAPTAIN to her list of responsibilities.

Having won UH with the Senior Women the year before and being crowned Senior Woman of the Year this year, she’s the perfect person to lead the Senior Women in defending their UH title. And with a sizeable influx of Ella’s Mini Divas joining the crew, I think we have an electric year ahead of us!!!

Last year, as Social Sec, Rohini got to make the Captains’ Pint; this year, she’ll be on the receiving end of whatever Zakhos and Izzy decide to concoct! And with TWO captain roles, there’s a very real possibility she’ll be drinking two… Thoughts and prayers, Rohini 😭!!!

Meet , our NOVICE MEN’S CAPTAIN this year!!

James is the 7th and final 2nd year to be introduced on this very youthful committee. Having joined RUMSBC last year with more rowing experience than most of the club, he skipped the novice year entirely. However, he now gets to experience a RUMSBC novice year vicariously through his freshers.

He was also part of the Senior Men’s crew that won UH Head, so he has a wealth of experience to pass on to the novice men. But, more importantly, it’s his ability to serve better than a PrettyLittleThing model in a bodycon and his traumatisingly intense choice of song to erg to that best qualifies him for this role. Novice men, get ready for an electric year!!!

DISCLAIMER: To avoid disappointment at Freshers’ Day at the River, please note he is not actually green 😔 (he will be wearing a green bodycon though 💚)!!

What’s better than one NOVICE WOMEN’S CO-CAPTAIN….. TWO NOVICE WOMEN’S CO-CAPTAINS!!!! Next up is joss🦋, completing this dynamic duo.

Joss was also part of the Senior Women’s crew that won UH Head, and she is ready to impart her wisdom on what it takes to win to her novices. She is also one of the friendliest faces in the club and makes everyone feel welcome, so basically the perfect person to introduce the freshers to RUMSBC.

Beware though, if you stand near Joss for long enough, she will manage to get you dancing in a TikTok with her 😭!! Nevertheless, we’re sure she and Charlotte are going to have an unreal year with the novices!
