Swifty Bell Designs Contemporary embroidery from commissioned pieces to smaller pictures and cards. All the items are designed and handmade by me in Manchester.

I especially love and encourage working with treasured fabrics provided by my customers to help preserve their precious memories. All my making know-how is self taught, taking inspiration from birds, trees, talented and arty friends and family. I have been developing my products for many years but only now decided to ditch my former career and do this full-time. The materials I use are found, collected, saved, stashed and coveted in my over-flowing craft room. Some of them are so precious I worry about them running out, and so use them sparingly on the wing of a bird or a cherry on a cupcake. I love bold vibrant material and occasionally feel the need to craft in calm neutrals too. I am fascinated by how different materials work when combined with each other, how fraying an edge of material can give a new dimension and how imprecise embroidery brings character to a creation.
