OLIVER

Session Focus: Ball mastery, dribbling and shooting technique.

Oliver is an absolute pleasure to coach. We had a laugh throughout the whole session he’s definitely a joker!

But when it’s time to work, he switches on, listens really well and shows fantastic determination.

We worked on ball mastery and dribbling, getting plenty of touches on the ball and challenging Oliver to become quicker and sharper while maintaining control. We then moved onto shooting technique, focusing on how he strikes the ball and improving his accuracy in front of goal.

One thing I really like about Oliver is how much he competes against himself. Whether it’s trying to beat his circuit time or score more goals than he managed in the previous session, he’ll keep pushing and pushing until he improves.

That mentality makes coaching him great fun because there’s always another target to chase and another challenge to set.

Keep working hard and keep enjoying your football, Oliver!

BOBBY-

Session focus: Ball mastery repetition and Scanning.

Bobby is becoming more confident and competent with every session, and you can really see him starting to push himself more each time he trains.

The areas we identified for improvement in his earlier sessions have been worked on consistently, and we’re now at the stage where we can start going into much more detail and increasing the intensity.

Today we continued with ball mastery and close control, adding more repetition and expecting quicker, sharper movements. We also worked on his weaker foot and scanning, encouraging Bobby to get his head up while still keeping the ball under control and being aware of what’s around him.

As Bobby improves, the sessions get harder. We’ll keep testing him, adding more pressure and pushing his boundaries to make sure he continues progressing.

It’s great seeing the difference from those first sessions. More confidence, more ability and a real willingness to keep improving.

Keep pushing yourself, Bobby!

TEDDY-

Session focus: Strength and attitude on the pitch, weak foot development, passing, intermediate dribbling and shooting technique.

Teddy is his own biggest critic. That can be a real strength because he’s always striving to be the best he can be, but sometimes those high expectations can work against him. This session wasn’t just about improving his football it was also about helping him channel that determination in the right way.

We worked on strength and protecting the ball, using his body to hold players off while scanning for the next pass. We also put plenty of emphasis on his left foot, both passing and finishing, giving him more options and making him harder for defenders to read.

From there, we moved into quick dribbling and intermediate ball mastery techniques, before bringing in target practice and working on different shooting techniques.

We finished the session with a good chat about managing the expectations he puts on himself and turning them into something positive, both on and off the pitch.

For me, coaching is about more than just football. If you can help a player discover their confidence while continuing to challenge the areas they need to improve, eventually they start to see for themselves what they’re capable of.

Once that happens, they begin to believe.

Teddy is a perfect example of that. He’s a great lad to coach and he tests me just as much as I test him, because I’m constantly looking for new ways to challenge him and help him improve.

Keep smashing it, mate!

LENNON-

Session focus: Strength on the ball, defensive headers, back line movement, first touch and early release.

This was Lennon’s second session with me, and he’s already showing himself to be a natural leader. He’s an absolute sponge when it comes to taking information on board, listening carefully and then putting it straight into practice.

A big part of today’s session was strength on the ball. We worked on how important it is to use your arm and body effectively to protect possession and keep the opposition away, while still scanning for the next pass and knowing when to release the ball early.

We also worked on bringing the ball down with the chest, getting that first touch under control and then moving the ball quickly.

From there, we progressed onto defensive headers and back line movement, moving forwards and backwards together while communicating throughout to mimic situations Lennon will face in a match.

We touched on dribbling and being comfortable in possession. Defenders still need to be good with the ball at their feet, especially when playing out from the back.
Another great session from Lennon. Natural leader, great attitude and a great lad to work with.

AVA-

Session focus: Shooting under pressure, intermediate ball mastery and 1v1s.

Each session we’ve been pushing Ava that little bit further, adding more difficulty and challenging her to step outside her comfort zone and every time she has risen to the challenge.

We worked on intermediate ball mastery, developing her control and confidence on the ball before progressing into shooting under pressure. The aim was to get Ava making quicker decisions while still keeping her technique and accuracy when finishing.

We finished with a 1v1, giving her the chance to put everything together and play with confidence.

Since starting her sessions, Ava has now joined a team and is gaining a really good understanding of the game. She absolutely loves her football, and that enthusiasm shows every time she trains.

I’m really looking forward to hearing all about her first season and watching her continue to develop as a player. Keep working hard, Ava! 👏

October Half Term Camp 29th + 30th

Hopefully we get enough interest to run it.

Just an idea to keep the kiddos busy during the Half term. Again kept it on the cheaper side to help at £20 a day.

Will be my first camp but I'll make sure it's fun. Full of different drills and games. Will send a more detailed itinerary closer to the time if we get enough interest. 😁

Please message for a place. Limited to 16.

Thankyou

Ben
