Accrington Stanley Military Vets 4-1 Clitheroe Lads United

Anther disappointing result, abit of a rise and repeat story again today. Despite this the game was played in the right spirit, some good football and banter.

Lads united created enough chances to be clear of the opposition but a combination of some fantastic saves and wasteful finishing came back to haunt us again.

After having the majority of the chances for the first half of the game, but a counter attack led to the Vets taking the lead.

Lads united managed to regroup and reply almost instantly through some good football which resulted in Lee Evans putting the ball in the back of the net.

In the second half we did not get to grips with the Vets midfield which ultimately led to our down fall.

Despite our efforts we fell to defeat.

Hopefully we start to turn the tide in future games.

Thank you to the Vets for hosting us, we look forward to playing again in future and hopefully getting on a nightout/social event.

Special shout out to Gabby who played for the Vets, she showed women can play within the mens game and that football at an inclusion level can be for everyone 👏 🔴⚪️ 🤝 🔵

The boys are ready for today's game and are looking forward to trying to get the scoreline to match our recent games.

Despite playing some good football, match fitness and inexperience as a group playing games together has caused us to fall to heavy defeats but today is another chance to build on our previous games.

Even more exciting we get to debut our new kit!!

Thursday is almost upon us once again.

Our last session before we take on our friends at the Accrington Stanley Military Vets.

We have had some great games over the years and look forward to sharing the pitch with them once again.

But we also hope to try and get back to winning ways after 2 heavy defeats.

As we get ready to go into battle the Lads United troops have been assembled (Toddy's band of "Special Forces")

Thursday nights can only mean one thing.

Clitheroe lads united looking for divine intervention to help them play football.

Only two more sessions before our game against our friends at the Accrington Stanley Military Vets.

And hopefully we get to debut our new kit!!!

Another Thursday night is almost upon us.

We are getting ready for a game against our good friends at the Accrington Stanley Military Vets

Hopefully we get good numbers down despite the unbearable heat and produce something that resembles football.

Thursday night is almost upon us.

I have had a few messages about arranging games, I have had a little break from football but will look to get back to anyone who has messaged me.

Hopefully we will be able to arrange a few more games in the coming months.

We also have the excitement of a new lads united kit so we will be looking forward to giving it test run out, hopefully it makes us play better 😆🏃‍♂️

Match Report | Clitheroe Lads United 2-6 Hatters FC

After a much-anticipated game against Hatters FC , we sadly fell to another heavy defeat in what was truly a game of two halves.

With Hatters coming into the game full of confidence following their recent cup win, we knew we were in for a tough evening.

For much of the first half, we played some excellent football and created a number of good chances. Unfortunately, we couldn't make the most of them, although we did manage to take the lead.

The woodwork proved to be our enemy on more than one occasion, and with a little more luck and a sharper edge in front of goal, we could easily have found ourselves a few goals ahead.

Hatters also had their moments, but Gav Heaton produced a superb save to keep us in front during the first half.

As football so often reminds us, if you don't take your chances, you'll usually be punished. Hatters equalised from a corner before taking the lead with a well-worked counter-attack, making full use of their pace up front.

In the second half, their fitness, quality and understanding as a team really began to show. Despite giving everything we had, Hatters took control of the game and capitalised on their opportunities.

A brilliant solo goal from Jonny gave us hope and reduced the deficit, but despite continuing to battle until the final whistle, we couldn't build on it and Hatters added another to complete the scoring.

Although the final score finished 6-2, we feel it was a harsh reflection of the overall game. There were plenty of positives to take, especially from our first-half performance, and we'll learn from the experience, dust ourselves down, and go again.

Congratulations to Hatters FC on the win. A great bunch of lads, and we wish them the very best for going forward
