The Chatburners take all 3 points!! Dominant performance from the lads yesterday, head over to Facebook for a full match report! The undefeated league run continues!

06/11/2022

Chatburn football club went into the weekend knowing that only a win would do.

The last couple of games had seen Chatburn drop points due to the lack of killer instinct in front of goal, Still unbeaten in the league but on a run of draws a big win was required.

Manager Evans, back from a recent scouting trip to Tenerife stressed the importance of the win and earning the right to play football. fired up the Chatburn players responded.

From the first kick of the game Chatburn were on the front foot, Iplay not getting a second on the ball and struggling to get near the Chatburn players when out of possession.

With Ruben, Owen and Stirzy dominating the middle of the park and the inverted fullbacks giving space to the overlapping CB Blezard Iplay just couldn't put pressure on the ball.

The passing play with players finding space was a joy to behold on an otherwise miserable day.

It was no suprise with the dominance being shown that chances were quick to start arriving, great work from Sam Richardson putting pressure on defenders and making runs in behind led to panic across the back line and with corners and crosses flying in the goals started arriving.

Two towering headers from Ollie strizy, after great deliveries from Thierry Tandy and Danny Traynor and a cultured finish from Richardson that his hard work had earned made it 3-0 with plenty of time to go in the half.
Several chances came and went for chatburn the pick of the bunch being Traynor missing a header from 2yrds out on with an open net.

Then Iplays only chance of the half arrived, Sam Waddington playing as a lone CB lobbed the ball over the onrushing striker.
The striker clearly handballed the ball and broke through towards the keeper, bearing down on goal with only the keeper to beat the last thing he expected was a world class recovery tackle from midfielder Ruben taking the ball and the the man to leave flat on his back with no idea how he ended up there.

To add insult to injury Chatburn then went down to the other end of the pitch and scored. Right on the stroke of half time Blezard stood in front of a free kick and Iplay didn't organise a wall instead concentrating on marking the players who had been so dangerous in the box, confused but not one to miss an opportunity Blezard promptly stuck the ball in the back of the net and the ref blew for half time with Chatburn 4-0 up.

The message at half-time was to keep up the pressure and not to let the standards drop. The players were also told to keep there heads with an increasing number of bad challenges coming in. The final demand at the half from the manger was for 10 goals to keep the players focused.

The second half started with Chatburn even more dominant Iplay unable to get out of there own box and within a few minutes Chatburn had extended there lead another great finish from Richardson giving the keeper no chance.

The dominance in midfield was shown for the next goal with Owen and Ruben playing the ball around the pitch and recycling it through a ball playing back line, working there way up the pitch and leaving several Iplay players confused as to how they were getting so much space Owne played a through ball for the overlapping Traynor to smash the ball past a stranded keeper, ending a passing move where every player touched the ball without Iplay getting near it.

All 3 subs from Chatburn came on the pitch with players getting Vital minutes.
A mazy run from CB Sam Wad that saw him take on and beat several players led to a free kick 30yrds out, with the manger and the sidelines screaming for the White Hesky to hit it Sam calmly stepped up and rattled it in off the bar. The sidelines erupted as Sam slid on his knees into the jubilant fans.

The downside to the celebration's was the lack of concentration that followed for the next few minutes Chatburn switched off and Iplay finally found themselves in chatburns half and a brief lack of communication allowed and easy tap in for a consultation goal for Iplay.

The manger and players rightly furious responded by pinning Iplay back into their box and creating a host of chances Aden Parker scoring a curled finish from the edge of the area and CP7 finishing a fine move with a header made it 9-1 as the final whistle went.

A great team performance with every player dominating there personal battles and playing a style of football seldom seen at this level leaving the manger happy even if they did fall short of the 10 goal target.

The second game at Home for chatburn and 17 goals scored across the 2 games making them a joy to watch, a big thank you from the club to the groundsman who despite the bad weather recently got the game on.

Chatburn VS Salts
Huge game as chatburn get back involved in the league after a run of cup games.
Chatburn started brightly playing better football and opening up the salts defence time and time again.
Chatburn quickly started putting goals with on the board with Sam,Stirzy and Tandy getting goals in quick sucession.
Right on the stroke of half time Chatburn had a man sent off for a great save from the CB Blezard who bravely dived to his left to stop a counter attack, handball was given an as the last man he had to go. Salts scoring from the reasulting Free kick making it 3-1 at half time.

Chatburn refused to go defensive despite going a man down, and takinging control of the game again they added 2 more goals through RB Traynor and Stirzy with his second of the day.

A dubious pen decision gave Salts slight hope, only for Chatburn to go up the other end and score twice through CP7.

A late great overhead kick for Salts was a highlight for them as the clocked ticked down to an 8-3 win for Chatburn
