Following our previous post regarding County Finals we are delighted to update you with the following:
Victories achieved in 2 Wood Singles by Frinton's Conor Mathers. Senior Fours by Frinton's John Dennison, Tony Hatley, Paul Hubert, and Peter Halliday. And our next generation of bowlers in the Junior Pairs with West End's Alfie Comerford teamed with Grays Town's Kai Hudson. A massive congratulations to each and every one of you 🥇🥇🥇.

Quick reminder that County Finals take place tomorrow, Saturday 1st August, and will be hosted by our very own Frinton B.C.

Seniour Fours.
John Dennison, Tony Hatley, Paul Hubert, and Peter Halliday (Frinton) v Colin Jones, Colin Foster, Bill Nelson, and Paul Whellams (Wanstead Central).

11.30am.
4 Wood Singles.
Conor Mathers v Jamie Holmes (Kings Chase).

Junior Pairs.
Alfie Comerford (West End) and Kai Hudson (Grays Town) v Owen Wallace and Ollie Shearing.

Arclight's Sarah Carter and West End's Ed Mercer teamed up to compete in this season's National Mixed Pairs. After victory in 5 previous rounds they reached the area final, where they sadly lost by just 3 shots. Congratulations and commiserations to you both on your tremendous run 💚.

Good luck to today's Group One bowlers taking part in various County Semifinals at Essex County B.C.

From West End B.C there are:
Alfie Comerford in the U21 pairs.
Mark Hemstedt, Sam Roberts, and Robin Willis in the Mens Triples.
Martin Hogg, Edward Mercer, Paul Sluap Hills and Dave Comerford in the Mens Fours.

From Frinton B.C we have Brian Dennison, Tony Anthony Hatley, Paul Hubert, and Peter Halliday in the Senior Fours.
Conor Mathers in the 2 Wood Singles.
And Conor Mathers/Paul Hubert in the Singles.

Intergroup Knockout update: Group 1 scraped victory against Group 6 on Sunday, with 123 shots to 122. Massive congratulations to all involved for reaching the 2nd final in the last 3 years, and a huge thank you to our hosts Frinton Bowls Club for providing excellent hospitality throughout the day. Onto the final in August!

Massive thanks to Thorpe-le-Soken bowls club for hosting this year's first round fixture of the Intergroup Knockout competition.
On Sunday 7th June, Group One faced the notoriously strong Group Four and achieved victory by scoring 116 shots to Group Four's 105.
This means the squad progresses to the semifinal stage which is to be held on Sunday 5th July, venue TBC.
Well done to all involved.

Today's Ashford Cup clash between G1 and G2 resulted in an equal share of the points, 3 - 3. So all very much still to play for. Well done to all the players and organisers, and a big thank you to Frinton B.C. for hosting the fixture.

Frinton Bowls Club is today hosting the Group's first Ashford Cup fixture of the season. Keen to retain the title of 'Ashford Cup Winners', the game will commence at 10am, where Group One will face Group 2. For any spectators wishing to go along and support the squad, the venue's postcode is CO13 0AP.

Congratulations are in order for three of our Group One clubs on reaching the milestone of 100 years old!
2026 is the Centenary year for Colchester West End B.C, Mistley & Manningtree B.C, and Wivenhoe B.C.
