Something exciting is coming this summer… 🌿

We’re thrilled to be joining forces to create a brand-new holiday club experience for children aged 5–11.

Think woodland adventures, nature-based activities, creativity, exploration, new friendships and plenty of opportunities to build confidence whilst having fun outdoors.

This collaboration brings together Sweetpea Grow & Play’s passion for child-led learning and Anna Salisbury Forest School’s love of outdoor adventure and nature connection.

We can’t wait to share more with you.

How to get the best tomatoes in clay soil

Tomatoes are tall plants that need a deep root system to anchor them against the elements

For the healthiest plants, aim for deep holes - around 10 inches. My post digger is the perfect tool for this. At £24.99 this has been a worthy investment to my small scale farm with many uses:

Clay soil is very dense, doesn't drain easily and is generally less nutrient loaded. Adding some natural feed -chicken manure, fish blood and bones or equivalent -, a few handfuls of compost and a good soaking of water will give your toms a healthy start as they settle in and form roots.

Then co-plant with some delicious lettuce, herbs like basil, oregano or chives and flowers such as marigold, calendula or nasturtiums - to naturally deter pests away from your tomatoes- and you'll be enjoying multiple crop harvests in just a couple of months

Our favourite ground varieties are; money maker (salad tomato), costoluto fiorentino (beefsteak) and roma (plum)

What tomato varieties are you growing this year?

Roundup is a cancer causing nightmare

please put a stop to council workers using w**d killer on verges. It's wreaking havoc with our insects and is a massive health risk. Children also deserve to play barefoot in their local parks without risk of exposure to carcinogenic chemicals 😢

This is the second poisoned bee I've encountered this week alone. It really is a problem

Please breakup with roundup, for us and our bees 💚🐝
