I went to the doctors a few years ago.

The first thing I said was (word for word):

“I’m angry a lot. Fix me.”

It turns out, a lot of my anger came from judgement.

I judged people constantly. I judged myself. And I judged people for judging me. It was exhausting.

What I learned is that judgement pushes people away—and hurts you just as much.

One of the biggest shifts in my life came from learning to replace judgement with compassion, and criticism with self-love.

The truth is, everyone is carrying something you can’t see. And you’re worthy of kindness too.

We could all use a little more of both.

💙Practice reminding yourself that your worth isn’t something you have to earn.

Those two habits changed my life. They might change yours too.

Hi, I’m Greg. I’m 39, a proud Husband / dad of four, and local to Cheylesmore. Like many men, I work full-time, have a busy family life, and know how easy it is to put yourself at the bottom of the priority list.

I created this group because I know there are plenty of men aged 25+ in our local area who are living similar lives—working hard, raising families, and juggling everyday responsibilities. While life can be rewarding, it can also be isolating, and making time for yourself or building new friendships isn’t always easy in 2026.

The aim of this group is simple: to bring local men together in a safe, supportive, and judgement-free environment where everyone feels welcome. Whether you’re struggling with your mental health, feeling lonely, looking to meet new people, or simply fancy a chat, this is a place where you can be yourself.

This is a group, and we take confidentiality seriously. We respect each other’s privacy, and any personal or sensitive discussions are treated with discretion in line with GDPR principles. Sometimes, all someone needs is an ear to listen—and that’s what we’re here for.

The conversations don’t have to be serious all the time either. Whether you want to chat about football, rugby, music, films, TV, gaming, family life, hobbies, or anything else you’re interested in, there’s always someone here happy to join the conversation.

Everyone is welcome, and my inbox is always open if you’d rather have a private chat or simply want to say hello.

As the group grows, I’ll also be looking to organise regular meet-ups and events, whether that’s going for a walk, meeting for a coffee or a drink, watching a match, attending a local event, or just getting together for a catch-up.

No pressure. No judgement. Just local men supporting one another, making new friends, and reminding each other that none of us has to face life’s challenges alone.
