**STATEMENT UPDATE**
It breaks my heart to say this, but due to ongoing struggles with funding, along with personal, family, and health commitments, I’ve had to make the incredibly difficult decision to end the Cheylesmore Youth Group.
This hasn’t been an easy decision — in fact, it’s one of the hardest I’ve ever had to make. This group has meant so much to me, and I know it has meant a lot to so many of you as well.
To every child who came along, every parent who supported us, and everyone in the community and our sponsors who believed in what we were building — thank you. Your support, kindness, and encouragement have meant more than I can put into words.
Although this chapter is coming to an end, my connection to this community isn’t. I’ll still be around, still doing what I can to help, support others and give back whenever I’m able.
This isn’t goodbye forever — just the end of a very special journey that I will always carry with me ❤️
This site will still continue but just for support, volunteers and projects in the community.

BBC CBeebies reached out to me and are looking for children to take part in an exciting new show filming in Coventry city centre between June and October!
If you have a child aged 4½ to 6 who is curious about food, this could be a great opportunity for them to get involved.

STOP KNIFE CRIME IN COVENTRY
Knife crime is rising — and it’s affecting our communities, our streets, and our future.
🔴 Around 15% of crimes in Coventry involve a knife — including threats, robbery, assault, and tragic loss of life.
This isn’t just statistics.
This is young lives being changed forever.
Too many young people have been let down:
• Cuts to youth clubs
• Fewer safe spaces
• Less support and guidance
With nowhere to go, some are pulled into the wrong crowds, exploited, and pushed toward crime.
We need action now:
✔ More weapon surrender bins in high-risk areas
✔ Investment in youth centres and community projects
✔ Safe spaces for young people to grow and belong
Carrying a knife doesn’t protect you — it puts your future at risk.
👉 Choose life. Choose your future.
❌ Don’t carry a knife.

🌿 THE BIG CLEAN – WHITLEY COMMON PLAY AREA 🌿
We’re organising a community clean-up at Whitley Common Play Area and we need your help!
We’re especially looking for support from a local business with a jetwash van – such as a patio cleaning or bin cleaning company – who could spare a couple of hours to help us freshen up the play area alongside our volunteers.
🧼 Pressure washing equipment would make a huge difference in restoring the space for everyone to enjoy!
This will likely take place on a Sunday morning
🤝 Volunteers are welcome too – every bit of help counts!
If you or your business can support us, please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.
Let’s work together to keep Whitley Common clean, safe, and enjoyable for our community 💚

We’ve been making some progress behind the scenes to help move the group forward. This includes setting up a business bank account, creating a new process and constitution, and developing a safeguarding policy to make sure everything runs properly and safely for everyone involved.
As part of this, we’re also looking for at least two volunteers to join the committee. The committee will help with things like voting on decisions and helping decide where any funding should go within the group. This could include new equipment, event days, or trips for the group.
If you feel you could support the group by becoming a volunteer or would like to find out more details, please get in touch this may require a DBS check.

Help Needed
🌿 Community Help Needed – Let’s Tidy Up Our Park! 🌿
Is anyone free or willing to help give a little back to the community and help tidy up and look after our local park?
We’re looking for someone who has access to a jet wash (ideally from a van), as well as litter pickers and brushes, to help clean up the area and make it a nicer place for everyone to enjoy.
If you’d like to lend a hand or have the equipment to help out, please get in touch. Every bit of help makes a difference and would be greatly appreciated!
Let’s work together to keep our community looking its best. 💚

Hi everyone — sorry for the radio silence these past couple of weeks! I’ve been busy behind the scenes cooking up some exciting new ideas for our outdoor sessions, and I know the kids are missing them just as much as I am. ⚽️
Football and other favourite sports will definitely still be part of the fun — but there may also be some brand-new challenges, games, and adventures on the way too. I can’t wait to share what’s coming… watch this space! 🌟

GROUP UPDATE!
Good evening everyone,
After checking the numbers for this weekend, unfortunately we don’t have enough interest to make the session viable, so there will be no session this weekend — apologies for any disappointment.
Please keep an eye out for updates, as we’ll be back outdoors soon from late April / early May, running on Sundays from 10:00–11:30 at Whitley Common.
Sessions will run on a rotating basis through to October, offering activities such as:
⚽ Football
🏉 Tag Rugby
🏏 Cricket
🥎 Rounders
➕ Other fun sports and games
A huge thank you to everyone who has been involved so far — the children, parents, and especially our wonderful volunteers. You’ve all been amazing, and this is only the beginning 💙🩷
