Coylton v Dean Thistle 2014s

Yesterday we were hosted by Dean Thistle at Barony Campus.

We started sharply creating plenty of early chances and even striking the crossbar. Despite the positive start, the ball just wouldn’t find the back of the net and Dean Thistle managed to break the deadlock to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

We came out fighting in the 2nd half and deservedly scored an equaliser with a great strike from Liam. Shortly after our GK produced a fantastic save, but a slow reaction to the rebound allowed Dean Thistle to restore their advantage. We pushed forward in the search of another equaliser creating pressure and showing great determination but Dean Thistle sealed the win with a well taken goal from a corner.

A tough result to take but the effort and commitment shown by the full team was outstanding.

🏆 Player of the Match - Liam

Liam brought both hard work and talent today. It wasn’t an easy game, and at first the ball just wouldn’t fall for him. Instead of letting his head drop, he dug deep, showing a relentless work ethic and never give up attitude. His perseverance paid off with a well deserved goal. Coylton v Galston YFC 2014s

Midweek action saw us host Galston at Coylton Park. We raced to a 3 goal lead but we were never quite at our usual standards and struggled to take full control of the match.

A well drilled and resilient Galston capitalised and staged a comeback to level the score at 3-3.

Coylton responded with tremendous character, digging deep when it mattered most, finding their grit and pushed on to secure a hard fought 6-4 victory. It was a testament to the squad’s mentality and ability to win under pressure.

It was a rollercoaster of a game with 2 penalties, 10 goals and end to end action from start to finish.

🏆 Scottish Cup - Round 1

Today marked a historic milestone as the team competed in their first Scottish Cup tie.

Coylton started the match slowly allowing Annbank to get a foothold in the game and take a 2-1 lead into the HT break. However it was definitely a game of two halves as the team came flying out in the second half, fully dominating and scoring six goals to claim the victory.

The full team showed great character today and a performance they should be proud of. Onto Round 2 🥳

🏆 Player of the Match - Corey

Corey came on at half time and completely shifted the momentum- a real game changer. He took control of the midfield with total composure and dictated the tempo. His tackling was sharp and he constantly disrupted the oppositions rhythm.
Every time he got the ball he pushed the team higher up the pitch and kept them playing on the front foot.
It was a huge second half performance - well done Corey 🔥
