It’s that time again! Crawley Jets are getting ready to go 🛩️

On Sunday we head up to Stoke Mandeville for round one of this years WR5s season. Looking forward to getting back on court 🙌🏼

Super excited to be heading to Stoke Mandeville this weekend for the WR5 Nationals this weekend!

This is the final 5s event of the year, with the top 12 teams across the country battling it out for one last time before we batten down the hatches and get stuck into winter training 💪🏼

On Sunday 23rd March the Crawley Jets girls traveled up to Nottingham for the first ever women’s and girls cup hosted by

The Jets first game was at 9am, and with an M25 weekend closure most of the players and supporters chose to travel up on the Saturday and stay overnight.

There were six teams divided into two pools of three, the Jets first game was against “west coast flame” an experienced team. The girls played well but ultimately didn’t have the experience against the well rounded opponents and ended up finishing 20:12

The next game was against Solent sharks, sharks are a premiership team and the Jets just didn’t have the size to fight against sharks but at the end of a good game they finished 25:13 to sharks

In the 5th/6th team playoff, Jets played against “The angels of the north” after two hard fought games the girls played a strong, well organised game and were up 8:1 in the first half. In the second half they changed the lineup slightly to allow more court time for some of our newer players, and still came away with a win finishing 18:10 to the jets

All in all a fabulous weekend, massive thank you to some of the Jets male teammates who made the 200 mile journey to support the ladies, and as always to Paul and Ellie (and Trevor who was there in spirit) for supporting - the Jets definitely had the loudest support over the day! 🚀
