My Top Tips for Training on Holiday

A holiday doesn't have to mean putting your training on hold!

Whether you're building towards an autumn race or simply want to maintain your fitness, a little planning can go a long way.

β˜€οΈ Go out early – Beat the heat and explore your destination before the crowds arrive.

πŸŽ’ Pack the essentials – Running kit takes up very little space, so there's no excuse not to bring it!

πŸ“ Plan your routes – Use apps like Strava or Garmin to find popular local routes before you travel.

πŸ’§ Hydrate more than usual – Hotter climates mean you'll sweat more, so stay on top of your fluid intake.

⏱️ Focus on time, not pace – Heat, hills and unfamiliar terrain can make running feel harder. Adjust your expectations and enjoy the experience.

πŸ‹οΈ Keep it simple – If running isn't practical, a quick bodyweight workout, walk or swim will help maintain fitness.

😎 Remember it's a holiday – Missing a session won't ruin your progress. Enjoy the break, make memories and come back refreshed.

The best training plan is one that fits around your life – holidays included!

Week 24 βœ”οΈ

This week started exactly as planned – speedy club runs, challenging track sessions, and gym workouts all helping to build strength and fitness.

But sometimes the most rewarding miles aren't the ones on the training plan.

On Saturday night, I swapped my running shoes for a volunteer role at the St Catherine's Midnight Walk, supporting hundreds of incredible walkers as they took on 13 miles for a cause close to their hearts.

Watching people dig deep, encourage one another, and keep moving forward through the night was a powerful reminder that determination comes in many forms. Whether you're chasing a PB, walking for a loved one, or simply showing up when it matters most, every step has a purpose.

A week of training, community, and inspiration. ❀️

They say everyone has a favourite place.

I've realised mine isn't somewhere you can find on a map.

It's the people who make the miles fly by, turn tough days into good ones, and always make me smile.

My favourite place is wherever this crew happens to be. πŸ’šπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

πŸŒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ It's Global Running Day!

What better motivation to lace up your trainers and head out for a run? Whether it's 1 mile, 5k, or your longest run yet, every step counts.

Why not join the global celebration with and and be part of one of the biggest virtual 5k runs! Run solo, grab a friend, or join your local running community and be part of something bigger.

Who's getting their miles in today? πŸ‘‡

We all love setting goals... but achieving them is where the real work happens!!

Whether you're aiming for your first 10K, a Half Marathon PB or simply to be more consistent, the approach is the same:

πŸ“… Plan your sessions

🎯 Break your goal into smaller milestones

πŸ‘Ÿ Progress gradually

πŸ’ͺ Stay consistent

The runners who achieve their goals aren't always the most talented.

They're usually the ones who have a plan and keep showing up!

✨ It's a new month... and the perfect time to set yourself a goal! ✨

A new month means a fresh start, a clean slate, and 30 days of opportunity ahead.

Your goal doesn't have to be huge. It could be:
πŸƒ Run your first 5k
πŸ’ͺ Strength train twice a week
🚢 Walk every day
πŸ’§ Stay on top of your hydration
😴 Prioritise recovery and sleep
🎯 Finally sign up for that event you've been thinking about

Whatever it is, make it something that excites you and keeps you moving forward.

So, what's YOUR goal for this month?
Drop it in the comments and let's keep each other accountable! πŸ‘‡πŸ”₯

Wow… what a week! πŸ”₯

It started with a brand new training plan β€” because training with purpose always keeps me motivated and focused. πŸ’ͺ

Saturday marked my 150th parkrun milestone, so of course I celebrated by running the one course I swore I’d NEVER run … safe to say, I still won’t be rushing back! πŸ˜‚

Then came the real adventure… joining for the final 20km of her incredible 100km challenge. Watching the sun rise over Brighton after running through the night was pure magic πŸŒ…βœ¨

And to top it all off? Celebrating at the finish line with a beer at 7am! 🍺 What a way to end an unforgettable weekend.

πŸ’™ Who doesn’t love an Instagram trend

πŸ‘Ÿ So here’s a little more about me…
My favourite running things, go-to sessions and current PBs ✨

Running has taken me from my first Race for Life to marathons, ultras and now coaching others to achieve their own goals β€” and I still love learning more about the sport every day.

Now your turn πŸ‘‡
