Raising money in memory of Andy and Joshua for the aackss

29/08/2026

Today's Player of the Match goes to the one and only Jamie Holmes!

An outstanding performance, with some incredible last-ditch covering, brilliant tackles, and despite his "ripe old age" he's still got plenty of pace! He was immense from start to finish.

Well deserved, mate. More of the same next time! πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ‘

A great game with plenty of chances, some taken, some not! ⚽️

A really enjoyable game of football after a long summer away, and a great way to get back out there.

A huge thank you to Fleetdown United FC for hosting us today, we really appreciate your hospitality.

Most importantly, it was a fantastic day raising money and awareness for Air Ambulance Charity KSS in loving memory of Andy and Joshua. πŸ’™πŸ’™

Well done to Sporting Club Thamesmead Vets and good luck for the season ahead πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

This is what it meant to our caretaker manager yesterday. The amount of care, time and effort Jay put into bringing a squad together for Saturday's tournament is a testament to the man he is and his incredible work ethic.

Jay is one of mine and Andy's closest friends growing up, so seeing him lift a trophy in Andy and Joshua's name means more than words can say. We're so proud that he was able to win something in their memory.

He continues to do everything he can to honour Andy and Joshua's legacy and make a difference through our club. That's what KSS United is all about.

This photo says it all. A man who gave absolutely everything all day, finally able to rest with the trophy by his side. The tiredness will fade, but the memories of what was achieved never will.

This is what it means to those of us who knew Andy and Joshua personally. We all give everything we can to this club. Yes, it can be exhausting, but every minute is worthwhile knowing we're supporting Air Ambulance Charity KSS and the lifesaving work they do every single day.

Thank you, Jay Hicks for everything you do. We're proud to have you as our club captain. Enjoy your trophy, and thank you for helping us continue Andy and Joshua's legacy. πŸ’™πŸ†πŸ’™

Our player of the tournament yesterday was Mick Boreham.

"The saves he was making really kept us in the matches"

A quote direct from caretaker manager Jay Hicks

Well done Mick Boreham πŸ’™πŸ’™
